Dear friend, my tolerance is reaching its limits

We need some secret password, like “doper” in the profile or something like the masonic handshake to identify dopers on facebook. Hmmmm maybe doper isn’t so good. We might identify with the wrong group.

I’m sure there was intended humor in there I missed.

I for one have enjoyed connecting with old friends. It’s true sometimes it seems like we don’t have much in common anymore but that’s okay. There are a couple of people I used to work with who lean to the right and we politely discuss, disagree, and let it drop. If anyone was posting ridicules “why Obama is so dangerous to America” screeds on my page it would be brought to a rapid halt. That kind of disrespect is not the act of a friend.

Well, if anyone wants me, I’m here: http://www.facebook.com/invite.php?ref=tn#/profile.php?id=511969405&ref=profile

But I can’t even begin to say for how long.

The musician Beck (No relation, so far as I know, to Glenn Beck) is a second-generation Scientologist.

That one showed up on the feed of my right-wing LDS friend-from-school. I’m sure he thought he was being very open-minded by saying “No!! America needs all opinions!!”

I’m so relieved that my friend doesn’t think I should banned from my own country. Jesus fuck.

Even if he nevers pays you back, know that as an Iowan I am eternally grateful as well for you getting him the hell out of here.

You’re welcome. He will never pay me back, of course. I guess he doesn’t mind TAKING hand outs, only when the government gives them to other people does he have a problem with it.

I had a situation where a Facebook friend started getting all right-wing nutty during the election, posting woe-is-us predictions of doom and gloom for America if Obama won and repeating talk radio talking points ad nauseum. Unfortunately, she is my Aunt so it was a little harder to unfriend and never speak to her again. On the plus side she has mostly stopped since Obama was sworn in and I realized early on never to try to engage her with truth or facts as it just encouraged her.

I also get a charge knowing that her daughter is even more liberal then me.

I’m with you, sister. I don’t even see the point of social networking sites. I get all the virtual social interaction I can handle right here.

You know, I’m a lapsed Roman Catholic and a moderately uppity atheist, but if I saw this on a church billboard, I’d be sure to make time to go in and see what they were all about.
