I don’t understand what you mean by “I really don’t think so”; I wasn’t implying that it _was_ entirely fabricated. I was suggesting that it may have originally arose from a mere slip of the tongue later misinterpreted, and that her statement now about “the continent vs. the country” may just be a rather unfortunate second slip of the tongue. (If only because I am so reluctant to accept the alternate possibility) ---

I think that is still possible – I think she is interpreting this controversy as being that she was referring to the “wrong” Africa. As in “I mis-spoke and referred to Africa the country instead of Africa the continent. Really, I know there is a difference between them – it was just a slip of the tongue.” ---

Gotcha. That may be what is happening, and that even is what her words make it sound like, but it would be so amazingly ignorant for one in her position that I’d prefer to think she knows what she’s talking about and is just caught in an ever-growing morass of slips of the tongue. Wait, that sounds ridiculous. Fuck, the strain required to maintain this position is getting to be too much… ---

I gotta say - i dont understand. Palin is a shining example of the American Dream - that ANYONE can get to be president. Given the right friends, being in the right place at the right time and with a bit of luck thrown in. Millions of Americans are stupid. If you are saying that dumb people cant become president, then your American Dream is but a vapour. You guys had better think about this soon, cos in the next 20 years some fit bird is gonna come along and make you all drool. Soccer marms will want to be friends with her. Soccer dads will want to screw her. She might not be very knowledgeable or have much ‘experience’ but people are gonna vote for her and the American Dream WILL be played out. Repeat: at some point in the near future, the USA will vote in someone who is more celeb hotty than experienced senator. You wont be able to stop it. ---
