Janeane Garofalo, on today’s Sharon Osbourne Show, was explaining the difference between liberals and conservates. Just like conservatives, there are plenty of liberal talking heads that say outrageous things about how evil the other party is. She’s a comedian, and kind of washed-up at that. No need to get your panties in a bunch. ZJ ---

She was pretty far out there on _The Daily Show_ last night too. I like her, I think she’s funny, but she should stick to comedy and not so much the political commentary. ---

Next you’re going to tell me that there are conservative ninnies, as well (say, ones that suggest that folks who don’t lock step in agreement w/the War in Iraq are traitors to the USA), or some other news flash about the pope and da bears. ---

…depending on Janeane Garafolo for reliable political information…? Isn’t that kind of like going to Jim Carrey for brain surgery, or to Sarah Michelle Gellar to have your car repaired? Nothing against any of these people, but politics, surgery, and auto mechanics ain’t their specialties. ---

From what I can tell, John Kerry, the person who actually _is_ running on the Democratic ticket, does not share her views on conservatives being baseball bat-weilding head-busters. It’s pretty clear she was talking metaphorically and given the popularity of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Bill O’Reilley, Bernie Goldberg, Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannitty, Mike Savage and Peggy Noonan _to name but a few_ who have made bashing liberals into a thriving cottage industry, I’d say she has a point. ---

At least, I’ve never known any that enjoyed radical changes in their living situations. I caught her on “The Daily Show” last night. She put forth the brilliant proposition that voting for Bush amounts to “a character flaw”. :rolleyes: I didn’t get the impression she was joking, either. What a dumb cunt. * * * Fagjunk theology: Not just for Sodomite Propagandists anymore. ---

I didn’t see the show but my guess is that the quote about “right-wingers and conservatives” hiring “thugs with baseball bats to bust heads of the liberals” is a historical reference to the times when things like union organization, strikes for better wages and working conditions, and marches for civil rights were met with violent opposition from either hired goons or the police. > [@](#): > > I like her, I think she’s funny, but she should stick to comedy and not so much the political commentary So do I. In fact, I wouldn’t mind the political commentary if she could effectively work it into her routine like Chris Rock does or the late Bill Hicks did. Unfortunately, she can’t. Garafalo’s early humor was based on her being a detached Gen-X slacker and her new liberal activist image is too much of sharp contrast. For some reason, whenever she starts going off on various issues (which is now fairly frequently), the funny stops and the heavy-handed preachiness begins. ---
