Yes, people will admit to beating children; some see beating as a virtue. The Bible is the obvious reference here-- are you stupid? Some think a child must be struck to make them behave in a proper fashion so that it will not make too much noise. ---

My name is **ugly ripe tomato** , and I approve of \*\*Truman Burbank’s \*\*message. I don’t see anything productive coming out of this thread anymore. It’s been over a week and if Lynn Bodoni hasn’t responded by now, I doubt she’s going to, which is 100% fine by me. I have PMed the pit mods about possibly locking this thing up; if they decide not to do that I humbly ask people not to post anymore. ---

My internet connection has been down for quite a while. I’ve had to go to a library to answer some emails and other urgent internet business, but since the library always limits its users to half an hour, and its connection is so slow, I run out of time before I get to the SDMB. Fortunately, the problem is supposed to be fixed now. I haven’t decided whether I’ll accept this invitation to act as a pinata or not. ---
