That’s the thing that made me annoyed, too…the very words “deeply personal.” It’s this bloated sense of self-importance that irritates me about a lot of politicians, and Hillary seems to have more of it than most others. I couldn’t care less if she cries or doesn’t cry. Personally, I couldn’t run for President because I would crack under the stress and probably end up blubbering like an idiot. I get that it’s stressful. But the idea that it’s some kind of personal affront to her if we don’t think she can run the country as well as she thinks she can, that’s just obnoxious.

The point is that all these politicians (and I do mean all of them) claim that they know the pain of the working class. They know no such thing. They, in many cases, have no realistic idea of what a person or a family has to spend to buy groceries, to pay the electric bill, to travel to work, Politicians tend to know very little about the acutal daily lives of those they claim to represent.

Hillary Clinton seems to believe that the Presidency is her birthright. She doesn’t seem to see votes for someone else as her not winning, but as people taking away what is already hers.
And that is a big, big turn off.

Back in 1992, some women’s group sent a survey around to all the primary candidates, asking them to guess the prices of common household items. The only candidate to get a decent score was Bill Clinton.

First of all, there weren’t any tears. And although I roll my eyes at her phoniness frequently, I didn’t see any indication that it was faked. Keep in mind that these guys are exhausted as hell. That really came out in the NH debates the other night. I really have a lot of respect for McCain to be able to keep up that pace at his age!! Yeah, I know it’s not a lot of hard, physical work, but it’s loooooong hours, much of it spent in mind numbing situations.

I think the Independents going for McCain thing has a lot of merit to it. I think it’s not so much that pollsters got NH wrong, as that the poll results caused the polls to be wrong. Those particularly independent Independents, seeing that polls showed their favoured Dem Obama with a huge lead, and their favoured Pub McCain without one, voted Republican/McCain instead of Democrat/Obama.

It’s just a little unusual for Hillary to be seen as emotional on camera, I think.
Wasn’t she being accused of being too aloof, cold, or calculating for the longest time?
If a person is usually seen as non-emotional, when a little emotion _does_ end up peeking out from that buisness suit, it becomes much more noticable (and is seized upon by the 24 hour news channels who are desperate for anything new to talk about) than it would on anyone else.
I’m willing to write it up as exhaustion and stress.

Thank god Hillary is post-menopause ‘cause I’d hate to see her PMSing. Terrific. What’s next? Get the cast of _The View_ to be cabinet members? Replace C-Span with the Lifetime channel? I think we had that president before. From 1976 to 1980.
I don’t want Mr. Rogers in the WH and I don’t want Chuck Norris (although that could be cool). I want a middle ground: a president who won’t turn Iran into a parking lot because they looked at us funny but one that won’t take crap from tinpot Venezuelan dictators.
