Well…I took a walk on the wild side. I walked down the hall. Leaning pretty hard on the IV pole. I passed a glass sign thingy. I looked so horrible, scared myself. :eek: But I was up and walking. I count it as a ‘win’ ---

Jesus Christ on a cracker. I hope the food’s better at the new place. The supper tray was disgusting. I mean really disgusting. Not one item was remotely edible. Ham and sweet potatoes. A corn on the cob, I swear it wasn’t even cooked. Light brown pudding:eek: I had a sub earlier so I ate a protein bar. Nurse Rachet fussed at me for not eating. Too bad. I ain’t up for eating that trash. One more meal in this place. The breakfasts havn’t been too bad. ---

Unfortunately, we had occasion to eat the North Little Rock Baptist hospital at 7:00 PM Sunday. An order wasn’t placed fir dinner, but I found the cafeteria was still open. For breakfast. Sausages, eggs, shredded fried potatoes. I did manage some potatoes. Pretty grim. I urged folks to note if they were fed the same stuff Monday morning. Back to Brussels sprouts. Try them halved and cooked in bacon grease with bacon, onions and garlic. ---

I remember a strip of bacon here and there, or the occasional BLT, but oh, bacon grease! Rub the outside of a potato before baking…frying potatoes…cooking ANYthing in the cabbage family…eggs were invented to be cooked in bacon grease…right now, I would KILL for a piece of Momma’s chicken-fried steak, cooked in bacon grease, of course. There was always a cup of bacon grease in the refrigerator. ~VOW ---

I’m not a fan of green beans cooked in bacon grease myself. Ruins the fresh taste. I prefer plant oil. ---

_ **Dispatch from the New place** _ Well, it seems I have a choice of dinner menus. A regular tray or a salad tray. I chose Regular. It’s broiled chicken tonight. We’ll see. I’ve found out that my Surgeon’s name puts fear on the faces of the nurses and aides. Ha! I feel powerful. 😃 The dayroom was empty when I walked down. There’s not many inmates. I wonder if that’s a good omen? The TV is good. I asked an aide if I could keep it on to all hours. She said that’s okay. My PT starts in earnest tomorrow. I’m kinda scared about that. More later. Foods a’coming!! ---
