Nice move, moron: I managed to slice my finger with a razor blade whilst loading the glass scraper with a new blade. ---

Someone mentioned using a razor blade to get rid of a zit in the zit thread; that made me cringe. I can only imagine slicing off half of my face if I was going to try something as cowboy as that. ---

For the love of cupcakes will you stop fiddling with the thermostat and stop obsessing because the furnace doesn’t run constantly! For crying out loud, no i don’t knwo how old the furnace and thermostat are just that we had them serviced in November 2010 and i have no idea how to relight the pilot on the furnace. I can relight the water heater but that is because the reapairman showed me how when we had a problem with it last month. Shut the fuck up and stop asking me the same question every few minutes. ---

I’m very very very very very very tired. I’m stressed out, and I’m tired. Have I mentioned that I’m tired? For some reason I have an extraordinary number of customers this week who were utterly incapable of doing the most basic of tasks unless I asked them to do it three or more times. Look, I told you to click on the goddamned button right in front of your face. That’s all. Just fucking do it and you and I will both be done with this real soon. I know you see it, you read it off to me. No, I didn’t ask you to do that other thing. That thing either. Just knock that shit off, and click on the goddamned button already. I guess the other side is that I’m getting really tired of partisan name calling, sloganeering and hate in our society. “Imagine. But it’s not the DC crowd. It’s the comments on every goddamned news site, no matter what the subject is. Story about Kim Jong-il? Partisan US insults. Story about a particular style of beer made in Belgium? Stupid ass partisan political comments. I’m growing to be of the mind that people are just too fucking stupid to be trusted with unmoderated comments on news sites. ---

I get my dose of political news when and how I choose. I really, really hate when completely off-topic people will start talking about politics, or will start becoming angry and defensive about it. You honestly cannot escape it anymore. I stopped watching the Daily Show about 6 or 9 months ago because of this. It’s comedy, not politics. I’m tired of anyone’s views being ramrodded down my throat, ESPECIALLY because I’m a firm independent, fiscally conservative and socially liberal. No, I do NOT see eye to eye with one party or the other, and no, that doesn’t make me a racist or a hater of poor people or a commie lover. If you watch SNL from 10, it wasn’t like it is today. Sure, some skits were about the president or various things, but the biggest impact stuff was Schweaty Balls and the like. I miss that. ---

Good points both of you. And it shows up here on the dope a lot. It’s really annoying when it’s a thread about something silly and several dopers just MUST make their answer “yes, and [insert political character they hate and want to diss here] is the reason the world is ending!” no matter how far from the topic of the thread their “answer” might be. ---
