Dear (rich) people who oppose even a paltry $15.00 an hour minimum wage:

That is ass backwards thinking. Sorry. It’s better for a corporation or a small business to pay x% then 0%. Do math please.

Yes, that is true. However, this happens only if the parent paid into SS and died before they could draw on it.

Try reading up on the subject before you say something that dumb.

And? This has been going on for generations - is it a surprise to you?

Snort. I drew my SS early because I cannot work, period; I probably will not get all I paid in, much less the interest it was supposed to have earned. And what I “categorize” are those folks who are irresponsible, not necessarily just those on welfare, tho many (most?) of them are. For some reason, far too many people seem to see nothing wrong with people having children when they cannot afford them, or not bothering to get an education, or buying things they cannot afford. No, we are supposed to continue to give them things, both public and private, and turn a blind eye to how the entitlement attitude just keeps growing.

Which of course I have never said.

And?

Taxes is the only place it can come from. Eventually we will tax the middle class away and end up like Mexico.

Your thinking is worse. They aren’t “paying” based on a percentage of an employee’s basic needs; they are buying labor. If the government has to then provide various services to provide their basic needs, why shouldn’t the government have a say? In the end, it either comes down to more taxes paid to the government or more wages paid to the labor. Which is better for business?

In 1979 the MW was $290. Adjusted for inflation, it would be $9.66 today. Small wonder that conservatives want to simply peg today’s actual $7.25 to inflation.

Much more difficult today when employees are expect to work p/t with variable schedules.
