Dear Senator Moron

I’m in Connecticut and Senator Lieberman was on one of the local radio stations this morning. He opined that the decision is stupid and that the Declaration of Independence mentions God several times and that the Bill of Rights is based on the Declaration, therefore, it’s ok. OK, Senator Jackass, let’s just ignore the ACTUAL language in the Constitution because a different document written several years earlier mentions God. I find it truly appalling that a U.S. Senator and graduate of Yale Law School so blithely dismisses the existence of the Establishment Clause or thinks it’s appropriate to consider a constitutional amendment to save two fucking words that were inserted into the POA at the behest of the Knights of Columbus during the height of the McCarthy era. It’s not really something to be proud of.

I think I’ll follow Cessandra’s lead and send him a copy of the Constitution.

Of course every politician is jumping on the God bandwagon, election time is coming up and they are fearful of losing any votes. Too bad they don’t realize that they will lose some votes from people who think the constitution is more important than not offending people.
