It’s up to the poster if they wish to broadcast a name change. There is no rule about it. A name change is, of course, easy enough to figure out for anyone sufficiently interested. ---

I’m off to ATMB… Well, as my own attempt to find out who **tiny ham** was demonstrates, it takes about 30 seconds to track down the former identity of someone who merely changes their name on this message board. If someone was seriously worried about online stalking, i would think that a simple name change is hardly likely to be of much use. ---

Even if we announce a name change, that doesn’t mean everyone will see it. It was mentioned in one thread that we should put our old name in our sig, for awhile after the change. Well, I did. But since I’ve never had a sig on here, I rarely remember to click the sig option. But anouncing it should definately be up to the individual, and not critcized if they choose not to. ---

Off the top of my head, **jodi** , **erislover** , and **dalovindj**. All sorts of others, as well. Every time I look through an old thread and see someone I remember fondly with “guest” under their name, it seems a little sadly nostalgic. ---

Kinda miss **Aldebaran**. The hell of it is, it was refreshing to see the Arabic viewpoint, which is pretty damn rare on any board, and I found him enlightening and entertaining. But he grew increasingly vitriolic and ignored all the warnings up to his inevitable ban. I’ve seen this happen over and over with the hardcore right-wingers, and it’s a shame that someone on the other end had to fall into the same trap. Look, it’s really simple: If a mod tells you that you’re going too far, _rein it it_. Take a nap. Get some housework done. Go for a long walk. Go shopping. Hug a friend. But don’t keep digging and digging and digging until there’s no way out. Sheesh. ---
