Yeah, I never said I drank it. I just knew what a Caesar was.
It’s kind of the same reason I passed on an opportunity to try balut.

I went out to breakfast this morning around 8:30. Pleasant enough midscale small chain eatery.
At least around here there’s been a trend the last couple-few years of ordinary breakfast places offering either canned cocktails, or a very simplified bar for mixed drinks. I don’t know how widespread this trend is.
Anyhow I walk in, settle at the counter / bar, and order my water & coffee. I go here sorta often and they recognize me. No sooner is my coffee poured than an old guy (WAG late 70s) walks in & plunks down at the counter bar a couple stools away. The staff recognize him too. His breakfast order? A bourbon & coke.
I have a couple cups of coffee then order my eggs, fruit, etc. By the time I pay and leave he’s almost finishing his third bourbon and coke. And has had nothing else to eat or drink.
Sad way to wrap up a life. But he is living the saying; I suppose that counts for something. Poor bastard.
He may have a very good reason for that.
I knew guys that worked the graveyard shift. They went straight to the bar/breakfast joint went they got off. Got hammered. Somehow got home and in to bed.
I thought, that must be really weird to be drunk in the morning.
Afternoons I think might be fun.
Nah, he’s making a “Snotty Mary.”
–gag-- Thanks, but if I need to make myself heave, I’ll buy Ipecac Syrup thankyousoverymuch.
Who… I mean…what would make someone think they should package and SELL such a thing???

Canadians. In Alberta no less, so clam juice?
Hot air balloons fly at sunrise & about 2 hrs before sunset with a typical flight time of 45 mins - 1 hr. By 7 - 7:30 we’re done, packed up & partaking in the traditional champagne toast & by 8:30, we’re leaving some nearby diner with full bellies
Early morning balloon flights I’ve seen often but late afternoon? Here in Arizona during the monsoon season we get thunderstorms and even if it isn’t raining you get turbulent air rising from the surface.
You must have a gentler climate.
Yeah, ABQ doesn’t fly in the afternoon either, but in the Northeast it’s not quite as bad. Still cxl a lot of times for thunderstorms but that’s only on some summer days; not so much the rest of the year. We also tend to fly the smaller, sport balloons rather than the big ride operations.
Let’s toast to Death in the Afternoon for all the Suffering Bastards with an Adios, Motherfucker
May they RIP
