In college, my friends and I would play a game called “Death is Not an Option.” You present participants with two equally gruesome options, and they HAVE to pick one-- death is not an option. Therefore, if you’ve opened this thread, you must answer; death is not an option. Sex was always a popular topic, and this specific question, if I recall correctly, was pretty widely debated/argued/discussed, and pretty evenly split. Would you rather: 1)Have an evening of marathon sex with your (opposite sex) parent. 2)Never have sex with another person for the rest of your life. ---

God. I think I would have to go with no sex the rest of my life. If I did the other, I would be so traumatized and fucked up, sex would probably be impossible anyway. ---

My dad died 20 years ago, so that’s either necrophilia or temporary resurrection for both a mind and body fuckover. 😛 No more sex, thanks. ---

Would the first choice allow sex with others after that, or is it a one time only deal and never have sex again? At first reading I took that choice as: Have an evening of marathon sex with your (opposite sex) **partner**. Which makes the decision much easier. ---

Yes, if you choose option 1, you may continue on with a normal (relatively speaking, of course) sex life for the rest of your life. ---

God, the one person that voted for parental sex… Get yourself to a shrink! As LWIBR said above, I’d be so f’ed up after that I probably wouldn’t have sex after that anyways, so I’d go with number 2 - no sex. ---

I’ve managed to get well into late middle age without ever having had sex at all – just sorta happened that way – so this was an easy choice to make. (Though…my mama was kinda hot…) ---

Interesting results so far. Either I’m misremembering the actual scenario, or the early-20-somethings I ran with couldn’t contemplate a life without sex, cuz there were a lot more people choosing option 1. ---

Only a bona-fide sex addict (or someone who’s completely naive about the effects of sexual trauma) would pick Door #1. Having sex with one’s parent (much less marathon-style sex) is so fucked up as to be psyche-shattering for pretty much anybody. Fun thread, though. I didn’t grow up around my dad, so I might not even recognize him. I’m sure it’d be a gross traumatic experience all the same, but I can’t imagine giving sex up for anything. ---
