It’s probably going to be Maude Flanders. Why do I say that? According to Animation Blast, the voice actress (Maggie Roswell) has quit. She asked for a pay raise and Fox said no. Not to sound like the comics store guy, but the one where Bleeding Gums dies would get my vote for “worst episode ever!” I was expecting it to be about Bart sueing Krusty over the “jagged metal Krusty O” and instead it went south with a really sappy, sentimental plot (although they did get that Simba/Kimba thing in there!) This may sound terrible, but I hope they make Maude’s death, well, funny! ---

I think the writers really dropped the ball with both Flanders characters. I always held out hope for an episode where Maude either really cut loose and broke out from the perfect Christian wife/mother/homemaker, or one where we found out she’d had a double life all along (she went to Bible camp alone once…she _said_…). Either that, or one where Flanders got into some twisted cult, like the Left-Behinders. Instead, we get an episode where Homer, and everyone else except Flanders (well, Maude was skeptical), falls for a religious scam, and another episode where Homer **tries** to get **Ned** Flanders to loosen up. Haw, haw. So now both those hopes will be laid to rest (pun). Also, early on I kept mishearing Mrs. Flanders’ name as “Moll”. Wonder why that couldn’t have been so? * * * Remember, I’m pulling for you; we’re all in this together. —Red Green ---

60 seconds ago… Maude Flanders was pronounced dead by Dr. Julius Hibbert. She plummeted to her death from the top of a stand of bleachers. She was basically shirt-faced. We’ll miss ya Maude. * * * Recent polls revealed that some people have never been polled, until recently. ---

There were funny parts. Jasper playing the spoons was funny to me. The ending was very odd though. Very sudden. ---

That episode was just too weird. There were two parts that made me (and my s/o) burst into laughter: the extra-long blur of Ned’s apparently extra-long manhood from the video of him in the shower, and the swan boat in his driveway following his escape from the commitment freak. The rest was just…weird. In fact, the last few episodes have been just a bit bizarre. Kinda funny, though. I did notice Maude’s voice was different. Nice Call!! Not the ‘worst episode ever’ but it’s gotta be close… It had moments but I was left unsatisfied. They should be allowed to have their down times, but this was billed as the “most shocking Simpson’s yet” which it was not. Sweet Basil ---
