When I was a teenager, I started getting into quantum physics. Some of the books I was reading were a little bit on the woo side. Anyway, I came up with, what I thought at the time was a brilliant theory. Every conscience has a set existence. For example 1970 to 2059. The thing is, our conscience will exist at one moment in aug 4th 2013 and the very next moment it could be April 3rd 1981. The observer is completely unaware of this as they can only see time as linear. This goes on in perpetuity. I’ve wised up since then. I don’t actually believe that. But what strikes me as funny about all this is, a few years ago I was listening to Coast to Coast AM. (I enjoy the nutters) And some so called “Doctor of such-n-such” was on the show. And he was describing a theory pretty much exactly like mine! I got a kick out of that. ---

Now, while I’m living, my body is fueled by (among other things) beer and Twinkies. This fuel is converted into the energy to run my brain (and other bits) by various physiological processes. If I’m not living or eating, how am i getting fuel to power my “soul”? I liken it to what others have said; when I pull the lamp’s cord out of the outlet, the bulb ceases to glow. I like to think that rebirth (as in the Buddha’s teachings) is real, and I live my life as though it were. But I can’t resolve that my soul will no longer have a supply of power, so how could it continue? ---
