Back when I was so poor that I was living in my car someone told me that the reason I was poor is because I bought cheap stuff that broke or wore out fast. He said that I’d be better off if I stopped buying $10 shoes and saved that money to buy good shoes that fit well and would last. While I agree that is good advice, I was wearing the only shoes I had and they were falling apart because they were cheap. So…should I have just gone barefoot while saving up money for a good pair of shoes…or spend the 10 bucks for shoes that weren’t falling apart that I could wear to work to make money and buy food and gas? **Debaser** and many other people really don’t know what its like to be so poor that one has to choose between gas money to get to work and buying enough food that you can eat dinner and not try to sleep hungry…because that doesn’t work, so you don’t sleep well and you don’t work well because you are hungry and didn’t sleep, so your boss yells at you and you know that there is a big long line of people who want your job. Poverty is such a demoralizing thing, it just grinds you down until you are grateful for the rare place that leaves the handle on the water tap so you can get a drink of water. ---

Let me guess; you failed every history class you ever took, starting at around the grade school level. Why the fuck do you think we created social security to begin with? To solve an imaginary problem? No, we created it because the elderly were dying. They’re not dying now, because of programs like social security. Unfortunately, to the stupids that’s proof that social security isn’t needed. It’s the same sort of stupidity as throwing out your umbrella during a break in the rain because you weren’t getting wet. Social Security has robbed millions of dollars from elderly people. The left, however, has them thinking that w/o it, they would be starving on the streets. The elderly were not dying.
