I’ll just back up what the other Australians have said: I’m nearly 50, never lived anywhere but Australia, been out into the country on many occasions, and I’ve never been bitten by anything worse than a mosquito.

I’ve gotten some nasty stares from kangaroos though. Master of the haughty look is the roo.
