> I spaced on taking my laundry from the dryer promptly once or twice my freshman year of college. Both times it was an underthings load and both times the person who moved it folded it neatly on the table next to the machine. I was torn between being weirded out that someone touched my undies and so so pleased that I didn’t have to fold it myself.

Heh, if you went to Stanford in the 80s that might have been me. If I took a dryer, I always folded the clothes of the person I moved.

It weirded me out too if that makes you feel any better.

Use [weather.gov](http://weather.gov) instead - easy to use, and the source of everyone’s information anyway.

That is a good story (and I love what the firefighters yelled), but who the hell doesn’t know enough to not cram a dryer completely full?!? Or maybe that’s one of those things that I’ve known so long that it seems like everyone should know it.

> I used to leave my basket on top of the machine in case I didn’t get back fast enough. Because yes, it is perfectly acceptable to take somebody’s clothes out of the washer (or dryer) if they’re not present–it is a total douche move to throw them on the floor, however. I have never seen a laundry room without a folding table of some kind. Don’t be a jerk. 🙂

Previous apartment complex didn’t have a folding table (laundry room was too small). I left my basket on the machine I was using, too. One washer and one dryer for 12 apartments, many dual-occupancy, is really not enough, and management had posted signs advising that if laundry was left in a machine after finishing and someone else needed the machine, the done stuff WOULD be moved. Sheesh, some of us would even fold the load being removed from the dryer (using the top of the dryer for folding).

That was the funniest laundry story ever, but this was the best part. I loves me some firemen, but they do like to use their EQUIPMENT whenever they can.

They sure do look good doing it, don’t they 🙂

I forgot my laundry rant whilst thinking about firemen.

I hated doing laundry in shared facilities so much that I chose to buy a trailer instead of living in apartments. The carpet was a lovely avocado green, the kitchen had been upgraded to harvest brown and the bathrooms had black and gold speckled tile.

There were other trailers in my price range (25,000 with land), but that was the only one that had inside laundry hookups. All the rest of them had the washing machines in the driveway.

I don’t know how cold it gets where you are, but that sounds like frozen pipe city to me, with possible laundrysicles and rusting machines (from rain).

In the part of Arizona where the trailer was and from previous info from **flatlined** , it does get cold by local standards but the people further North refer to those temperatures as “summer”. There would be rust but no laundrysicles.

She’s moved anyway, plus if all she said was “Arizona”, hey, there’s places where it snows. It’s only that if I was as good at remembering mathematical demonstrations as I am at remembering trivia, my college grades would have been a lot higher.

Must be something in the (frozen) air. Postal services, public transit… cut service - raise price? Sounds like a win/win. :dubious:

Jiminy knickers, my brand-new winter coat is a nugget of goat shit. It’s a nice looking peacoat that I ordered from Walmart online a month ago. Fits well, nice and warm, very cute. But both shoulder flap buttons fell off in the first week. Yesterday, one arm flap button fell off. Then one of the three main center buttons that holds the coat together just decided to fuck off somewhere between my office and the parking garage. I can’t even find it!

A retarded dog could sew better stitches than whoever pieced together this hunk of crap. I’ve bought plenty of Walmart coats over the years and never had buttons falling off left and right like this. \>:[ And I won’t shop at Target either, because of the recent data breach (also I don’t really like Target). Guess I’ll have to buy a coat with a zipper next time ☹

I’ve heard that clear nail polish works good for keeping buttons attached, in case you’re like me and don’t know a thing about needle and thread

Oh honey, I’ve known you since high school. You’re the same fucking boring, self-absorbed, loud, obnoxious twit you always were. All you post on Facebook are selfies fishing for compliments (btw, you’re over 40 and you look it), little updates on your f- level “career” as a celebrity that no one’s ever heard of and how much you love cats.

I haven’t spoken to her in over twenty years and yet she’s exactly the same. I can’t decide whether to be amused, pity her or just marvel that some people cannot manage to grow up.

That’s what I do. Buttons that are sewed on badly are (unfortunately) “normal” for clothes that I buy.

That’s a problem with trying to call anyone right now; if you get put on hold, you are forced to listen to Christmas music. {shudder}

Check out this [young Darwin award hopeful](http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s142/featherlou/Miscellaneous/SAM_3832_zps1e3e8ef1.jpg) I saw yesterday. Jaywalked in front of a bunch of cars, on an icy road, with his headphones on and paying attention only to his phone. This kind of thing is why I make a face like this :dubious: every time I hear about a pedestrian getting hit\* - what were they doing when they got hit? Where they doing something as stupid as this kid?
\*I walk all the time here - I know that the drivers suck complete ass, too. That’s why I never take my eyes off of them. As a pedestrian, you have to be responsible for your own safety.
