There’s a tiny little ginger kitten available for adoption at the local SPCA. Teeeeeny-tiny and adorable and ginger. If we check her out and like her, she and our current kitteh would be almost exactly two years apart in age, which is perfect. I emailed the SPCA to ask if she’s still available, and the boyfriend will go look at her Tuesday morning if so (they’re closed Mondays). Boyfriend’s only qualifier to getting said ADORABLE ginger kitten is that we have to keep the shelter name, which is too ridiculous for me to put into writing but which he finds endearing (and a little hilarious). _I_ want to name her Boudica, because that’s what you name girl ginger kittehs. I sense a battle of wills coming. ---

Warning: First world problems coming up. We went to Red Lobster for lunch today (half the price of their dinner menu and all the cheese biscuits!). The biscuits were lukewarm with almost no garlic butter on them (basically the only reason we go to Red Lobster is the cheese biscuits). The server was slow to do everything (we saw her holding hands with a guy who looked like a manager, so _that_ was explained). The final touch - no cocktail sauce for the shrimp that we both ordered. They had been out of it for days, apparently. As I mentioned to the server, the time to tell us that is BEFORE we both order shrimp. Grrr. ---

You might want to have a back up name just in case. Kittens are often hard to sex. There is a genetic thing that causes orange cats to be 90% male, so I tend to assume that all orange cats are males without proof otherwise. ---

Well to their credit, [GoldenTrough](http://www.viewmenu.com/golden-corral-restaurants-106/menu?ref=google) has all the garlic cheese biscuits you want but the servers are often surly and slow to refill the troughs. It causes stampedes when they do refill. Fried chicken and fried shrimp strewn about the place like a feeding frenzy in the zoo. ---

Nice lunch out w/ my parents. 3/4 of my way thru my meal I am DONE. so what do my parents do? “Eat! Eat!” So I dutifully clean my plate because its the only thing that will shut them the holy fuck UP … And as soon as I’m safely home, barf up everything down to my toenails. thanks. Would’ve liked to hang on to lunch. TLDr: when people are done eating, they’re DONE EATING. ---

Funnily enough, I’m sitting here in Red Lobster for the very first time and I tried a biscuit to discover they are basically my recipe only with parsley added. Me: Umm, where’s my lunch for tomorrow? Husband: What lunch? Oh, you mean the sandwich in there and the soup next to it? Did the soup container have a spoon on it? That was your lunch? Crap. Sorry - that sandwich looked really, really good. Why did you only make half? Me: Yes, that was my lunch. I made half because you said you were going to go out to lunch with your buddies tomorrow. I’m going to put a label or sticky on the container next time so you know I’m going to take it to work. Husband: Come on. That would be weird. It’s not like we’re at work or roommates. Besides, I never eat dinner. Me: If you never eat dinner, where the heck is my lunch? Husband: Well, it looked really good. I wasn’t hungry until I saw it. Goddammit, I love you, but stop eating my lunch! ---

However, in my defense, this only happens after a severe temperature change. For example it was 10 to 15 degrees for weeks then temp rapidly went into the high 40’s. Condensation floor. This does not happen often so I tend to forget about it as soon as it dries and then am angry with myself for not fixing it when it happens again. :o ---

My late mom had it and it sucked. I really want another kitty but it’s not fair to the kitty or the two year old who lives here. The adult cats only tolerate her because they know to run away but I couldn’t do that to a cat. Which is a pity because there was the most unbelievably cute orange and white mackerel tabby for adoption today. Oh gosh was he adorable and friendly but it just wouldn’t work. He even purred at me as I held him. I wanted him really badly but my husband is right that the toddler simply isn’t ready for a kitten. And since this is the pit may I humbly beg December to find a season and stick to it? The high today was 68 which melted all the snow. The high will be 34 on Tuesday.
