While reviewing some basic Hindi, the language tutor mentions that in India, there is a brand of whiskey called ‘Nothing’ (which sounds something like koosh naheen). The joke is that if you ask someone what they want to drink, you can give them whiskey if they say ‘nothing’. It got me wondering if there is an equivalent joke in English or any other language. I know in Mexico there is a brand of meat products called Fud, but that’s not quite the same. ---

In La Crosse, Wisconsin (and probably other college towns) there’s a bar called The Library. “If Mom calls, tell her I’m at The Library” is the joke. ---

Again not products but bars: _La calle_ (the street), _La esquina_ (the corner) and _El café_ (the coffee(shop)). All three opened when I was a teen, it took most parents between months and years to realize that when we were “on the street” or “at the corner”, that street and that corner had walls, a bar and a couple of pool tables. ---

**The Los Alamos Hampton Inn** at White Rock. Okay, it’s on me that I didn’t know exactly where in Los Alamos it was and had to find a place with wi-fi to check my map, fair enough. But Los Alamos is 800 feet higher than White Rock which meant I could acclimate less, and making sure I know what _elevation_ a hotel is at within a city is more than I think I should be expected to research! ---
