I bought a People magazine this evening, and a can of chicken ala King. I served the slop over macaroni noodles. I at least had the decency to steam some broccoli on the side. And now I’m wearing my t-shirt inside out so that the seams don’t itch. I’m just having a backwoods kind of a night, what can I say?!? ---

Despite my best efforts, I can’t taste a difference between a $10 bottle of wine and a $50 bottle so…I go cheap. And I DO love me some Miller High Life. Growing up with a dad from the South, I enjoyed pork rinds, mysterious luncheon meats (still like olive loaf) and just about everything deep fried. ---

Mass-market pop and hip-hop music. I like a lot of other genres too, but I am not and have never been ashamed to listen and enjoy the songs they play on commercial radio. The most declasse artist I really love is probably Celine Dion or Britney Spears. And I make no apologies for my behaviour! Actually I could put a lot of the music I listen to in here but I think I’ll stop there. I also really like microwave meals, but that might be due to how easy they are to make rather than how good they taste. I eat at McDonalds regularly despite being vegetarian, I love the fries and their iced coffee and their watery coke. I watch The View when I can, and watched it every day in the lead-up to the 2008 US election. One of my favourite films is Titanic. God, maybe I should have gone to the elitist thread and tried to think of something declasse I _don’t_ like. 😛 ---

I’ve listened to Top 40 music for decades, and I show no signs of stopping now. Some of the songs are crap (as ever), but some are still great fun. ---

Reading this thread, I realize that I’m among friends. 😛 I like -grilled cheese sandwiches made with American singles -creamy chicken ramen noodles -fried boloney sandwiches (with the bright yellow mustard) -Waffle House scattered, smothered, covered chunked (best after a night of drinking) -country and old heavy metal music -my Chevy pickup -Rolling Rock or Coors Light beer -the occasional soft serve cone -the occasional stop at Taco Bell, even though I like real Mexican -yard sales Yeah, I do have champagne tastes in some things, but my blue collar origins show themselves like two inches of brown roots on a bleach blonde. ---

Fair food – funnel cakes, fried pickles, fried butter, sausage and peppers. McDonald’s. Top 40 music. Reality TV. Baloney. Not like good quality bologna, but store-brand baloney on gummy white bread. Us Weekly, People, In Touch – one must stay informed, you know. Wal\*Mart, but only late at night. ---

Count me in as a Kraft Mac and Cheese fan too. I gobble that stuff up damn near daily. Made with whole milk, not skim (skim is milk-flavored water) and lots and lots of butter. I also squirt Redi-Whip straight into my mouth. But I’m not sure if that counts. ---

This is beyond embarrassing, but… Boone’s Farm and Arbor Mist. I used to only drink it in the privacy of my home because I knew people would make fun of me, but screw it- now I drink it out in the open, and find that often my bottle of 2 dollar watermelon flavored wine gets drunk right up by other guests when my back is turned! I can’t help it that the stuff is delicious and that I can drink it until the cows come home yet feel no nausea or headache the next day! The rap/hip-hop music on the radio. God help me, I love it. General Hospital. Sometimes I even tape it (yes, really tape it, because I don’t have DVR.) Same with those VH1 reality dating shows, and Judge Judy, though I find Judge Judy to be awesome and not declasse- the same cannot be said for the defendants. Wow, I better go read Atlantic Monthly or something. I hear banjo music… ---

Totino’s “Party Pizza.” They’re less than a buck, and they’re covered in square bits of pepperoni, and they’re awesome. Like pizza on a cracker. Lots of red pepper and salt and I’ll eat the whole thing, cut into 8 tiny slices. I also love Bravo’s Real Housewives, and I keep a box o’ white wine in the fridge that I’ve been known to pour over mountains of ice and take to the pool with me on hot summer days. It used to bother me and then I realized that I simply don’t care. My wine is cold. Yours isn’t. I win. 😃 ---

My camping trailer (pulled with my Chevy truck, of course). I even have a string of little christmas lights that are shaped like camp trailers. When I sit on my lawn chair beside my camper, under my little string of lights, sipping wine from my box of “Chillable Red”, I set the standard for trailer park classiness. ---
