So, just for future reference, you shouldn’t try to preserve dead mice in oil? They decompose anyway? Learn something new every day.

And the whole “what is that noise? Oh, well, probably nothing” is exactly the reaction I would have had. Sorry you missed out on your french fries, though. Great story.
