Yes, many members are very good at internet stalking.
So talking about prostitution is very very bad and should be banned right away, but talking about pedophilia should be allowed to encourage discussion and education.
No, but perhaps fraudulently presenting oneself as a happy and fulfilled prostitute who thinks it’s a great way to have fun while making lots of money could be called “promoting” the activity.
Willful suspension of disbelief is what I suspect in this case.
talking about prostitution is one thing - encouraging/promoting prostitution is another. (unless the thread is about that prostitution shouldn’t be illegal).
(for consistency - look at the rules about discussing POT).

Agreed. However, when mods are not dealing with an obvious troll (or, if not, obvious rules violations), then there is a simple way to deal with it ourselves. DNFTT. Stop posting in that thread, and stop reading that thread.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I never saw the pics. I just went by the reactions in thread. People seemed concerned, then a longterm Doper took it to PMs and said something that I took as saying “It’s okay. She’s real.”
I wonder if it’s the type of trolling that causes it not to trip people’s trolldar. There’s no money involved, and no one is making people angry or anything. So there’s much less of a downside for being tricked.
Sure, ban them. We don’t need them lying and misleading people. But I find it hard to get angry at these guys. And, coming from me, that’s saying a lot.
The mod response to this is really interesting. It’s pretty obvious someone is telling a phony story and using a minor celebrity’s likeness to do it. Busted, right? No, let’s bend over backwards to make excuses for the troll instead of just shutting it down. You can pretend that it was a total fluke that anybody recognized the picture, but a number of people took one look at that picture and said, “yeah, right, this looks like a professional bikini model or something, I wonder who it really is.” And from there it took two seconds to find the real source. It smelled like bullshit, it was proven to be bullshit, and now the mod response is “but, but … you can hardly even tell it’s bullshit!” :rolleyes:
And somehow it’s no big deal to associate a celebrity’s image with a story about prostitution, but a post saying “there’s no way in hell that’s [celebrity name]” ends up having a mod come back and edit the name out. Good priorities, dudes.

The longer I read the thread, the more it read like our previous poster umkay’s thread. I did not judge by the picture. Th thread just rang less true as it went on.

And i read the whole thing through and this post all the way through.

I don’t care if you will accuse me of trolling or whatever, in fact i couldn’t give a shit, not going to post back on here anyway… but the way you guys handled this was absolutely ridiculous.
This person posted a post on here and it seems somewhere else as well. She posted a picture (i have seen the later picture someone else posted, guessing is the same one) She took the picture out and got all freaky, even hinting to this Stephanie girl it was later revealed to of been. Then someone goes full blown nuclear on here and all hell breaks loose including the banning/closing of the thread.
Ok, here is my two cents:
First, who even says this Stephanie girl is famous. I can’t really see what is famous about here except the fact that she is a fitness bimbo that posts shit online and craves attention, in a way kind of to the way this KE person did.
Second, the answers were NOT far fetched. No six some or other crazy stuff, in fact i tend to believe the answers where believable (although the person might not be)
Third, some douche goes all out on here even posting an “alleged” pm received from her which if true only confirms that she might be one and the same person.
Fourth, who the fuck would be an escort if not a 5th grade model who has a face of a interstate stripper.
Fifth, she mentioned 2 continents, she mentioned something about Germany and this person whose pictures where stolen is kind of from the area.
Sixth, what would be so fucking hard to believe about an escort talking about herself. There are over 1000 backpage ads in my neighborhood, would it be far fetched one of them wants to be the next “secret diary” type?
And finally, i can see why forums are populated by nerds, so much fucking drama over nothing. I was also reading another thread a few years back on here bout some dude who was going to escorts and brothels… What makes the two persons any different? That dudes stories seem at least as implausible as KEs.
PS: Most likely this KE is an old fat man who can’t even jerk it anymore. Everyone has a bullshit meter and should use it!

One way to detect trolls is that they attempt to do something idiosyncratic in the way that they type to make them appear to be unique. Of course they often screw up and forget on occasion. If i were to troll, i would just type in my normal way. Less obvious.
