If you’re trying to identify yourself via St. Louis pizza, maybe “is my hometown pizza flavorless cheese on a nearly inedible cracker?” Because Detroit pizza is cut square as well. It’s also cut square in Indiana at the bazillion Pizza King restaurants. ---

I don’t know if he wanted to watch it, if he knew a lot of people in the congregation wanted to get home (and he knew people found it the practice amusing) or he knew/assumed that people would skip out early anyways. Similarly, the phrase “Cooler by the lake” is something heard so regularly in weather reports that there’s bands named after it, beers and wines named after it, you can get ‘cooler by the lake’ t-shirts etc. I’m assuming that’s a common phrase in all the cities along the lakes as well. ---
