# Deja-vu... or; Is Cecil's brain being kept in a mayo jar on Funk & Wagnall's porch?

I’m absolutely positive that [this](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_253.html) column was featured on The Straight Dope Front Page within the past few weeks… yet, here it is again today, headlining as “[**Today’s Question**](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_253.html)”. The original publishing date is listed as 27-Jun-1980.

So, is Cecil still alive?

Are they just checking our short-term memories?

Has Cecil learned how to bend time?

This is true… it’s bad enough that there apparently aren’t enough new submissions coming in that we have to read 23 year old posts… but rehashing within a month? please. i need to find a new website that addresses this kind of information.
