Hey, here’s an old article I just came across from lawfareblog, that is relevant here, and may be of interest. I don’t think this has been posted previously in this thread. Lawfareblog published an article last December (2021) that, somewhat tangentially, includes a chart of Trump’s obstructive acts that Robert Mueller listed, including the dates of the events and _when the Statute of Limitations expires_, and color-coded to indicate the strength of the evidence in each case. Note, as of April 2022, the SoL for some of these events has already passed. Wow, great chart. Horrifying last two columns, but perhaps they might be useful in communications with DOJ. Surely a very similar chart could be constructed for Trump’s post-November-2020-election shenanigans… ---

Yep. Have you seen what happened with the FBI raid? the trump cultists all got behind trump. donated millions, etc/. So, trump get arrested, indicted, but not convicted. We then just handed trump a fantastic victory . It would be stupid to do so. Garland is one smart cookie. He knows that. ---

Not sure where best to post this, but the question is essentially one of timing related to the remaining prosecution(s) of TFG. We understand the various prosecutors decide when and which charges to bring, and that their decisions presumably hinge upon when they think they’ve conducted all the necessary interviews, obtained all the necessary documents, and just generally assembled all the evidence they need to successfully prosecute their cases. BUT If looking at this strictly in terms of the associated political impacts these prosecutions will have, when would you think would be the time best calculated to have the most negative effect on the GOP as possible? ---

What about the other remaining biggies - like January 6 insurrection, Georgia election interference, and Mar A Lago documents? Prosecution should happen when they have sufficient evidence to move, no sooner, and no later. The prosecution should be politically impartial. If they deliberately choose a time calculated to have the most negative effect on the GOP, then the prosecution is politically motivated, and anti-democracy. Of course, Trump claims that’s what they _are_ doing. Actually doing so would play into his hands. ---
