# Democrat Obstructionism

The Hastert Rule has been broken several times before this and Boehner is still Speaker. I don’t see how this would be any different.

Who among them is crazy enough to _want_ to be Speaker? I think most of them have enough of a sense of self-preservation, if nothing else, to realize that Boehner’s not the problem: that whoever fills that seat is going to look just as ineffective.

Not to mention, the job would pretty much force whoever took it to give up his ‘true conservative’ cred.

These two things are why Boehner will remain Speaker until either he retires, or the Dems re-take the House.
