I think this vote should put to rest the idea that Democratic politicians are beholden to their base. Instead, they seem to do everything possible to alienate as many Democratic voters as they can. ---

It’s worth noting that only 16 Democratic senators and 41 representatives voted for this bill. That’s 16 and 41 too many of course, but it’s not like the whole Democratic party lined up to back the bill. The bill’s passage is mostly a Republican affair. ---

[/QUOTE] I hope the rest of the Dems see that the Dems who voted for this crap lose any positions on powerful, lucrative or otherwise useful committees, etc., they may hold.
