Dems sue Trump over emoluments

Funny you should mention it because Congress did that.

Great news. Now you’ve got him!

Except it doesn’t mention a thing about emoluments which is what is at issue. And the only redress is for the Attorney General to file a civil suit.

So let me get this right. A foreign prince can donate large sums of money to a legislative or executive officer’s foundation or charity or honorarium or spouse and get an meeting i.e. pay for influence and that’s OK but if he pays for a room in a hotel owned by the President that’s a violation?

Don’t worry, unlike the Jill Stein recounts, the Hamilton Electors, the protesting of the electoral college certification, the collusion-investigation-that-wasn’t, this time they’ve really got him pinned down. Emoluments, that’ll show him!

ETA: and if that doesn’t work, I’m confident the two-scoops-of-ice-cream thing will finally do it.

Awfully confident for someone who has very few facts one way or the other. Faith over facts, eh?

You’re right. All I’ve got is a history of failed attempts by Democrats to overturn the results of the election. They haven’t succeeded yet, but as the saying goes: past performance is no indication of future results. I concede it’s possible they’ll succeed one day, but I do so in the same way I concede that it’s possible that the Wile. E. Coyote may perhaps one day catch the roadrunner: It’s not looking good based on their track record.

Technical comment: Obama did not use a blind trust. (Several posters seem unaware of this.)

LOL that’s rich coming from the party of Gingrich and McConnell.

Like this?

HurricaneDitka, could you explain why you put Jill Stein’s recount attempts in your little list of Dem failures? Since you are no doubt aware she isn’t a Democrat, it kind of looks like you needed some padding.

Because it won her fundraising, presumably from Dems, and lots of support and news and attention from Democrats. Here is how HuffPo put it:
