As many have said, there is nothing about a dendritic patter that most would find repulsive.
OTOH, there are things in a dendritic pattern that we would. Some forms of mold and fungus spread in such a pattern, infections can sometimes leave a dendritic pattern in your skin as they spread. These are rare, but we have seen them in movies and TV shows quite a bit of late.
I would think that it is more that a dendritic pattern indicates that something is living. And if something is living where something shouldn’t be living, then we find that to be repulsive.
I quite like them, and would give them a 7 or 8. A lot of people apparently feel differently than you and your officemates given the popularity ofLichtenberg patterns.
The trypophobia images, though, are repulsive, and I’d give them a 3.
