A comedy/parody site ([b3ta.com](http://b3ta.com)) I was visiting had a link to Dennis Madalone’s video - [America We Stand As One](http://www.americawestandasone.com/video.html). Given that previous links from b3ta had gone to other funny sites, I assumed Madalone’s would be as well. I watched the video and guffawed through its entire length. What wonderful satire! To say I was stunned when I was told that the video and song were meant to be taken seriously, was an understatement. In fact, I’m still not certain that the whole thing isn’t a satire. Who’s whooshing who here? [sup][sub]Please forgive me if I’ve offended anyone with my (honest) impression of the video. If I have, blame it on me being a Canadian and thus not having a real understanding of the US (what with watching all that great stuff on CBC during my free time, I just don’t have the time to keep up with international matters, eh?)[/sub][/sup] ---

Are you sure that’s not Adam Sandler? Sure looks like him. And that is one of the funniest film clips ever. It surely has to be a parody of something. 😃 ---

Yeah, there were a couple of threads about this, this…_thing_ some time back. Even the most patriotic of Dopers found it to be sappy, moronic, and utterly hilarious. The guy’s heart was in the right place, I know, but…_UGH_! He should’ve stuck to stuntwork. ---

Yeah the first time I saw it, I thought it just had to be a spoof, but no, looking around his site, he meant that from the bottom of his heart. Funny, funny stuff. ---

No problem–just thought you’d like to know that you weren’t the only one who had trouble believing it was _genuine_! 🙂 I can hardly believe more than _six months_ have gone by since I first saw it, though.
