Actually, **Der** did once say he’d “probably despise any country” he would have been born in and when asked to elaborate his position seems to be basically against ANY institutional organization of any kind. Have no idea if we can class him ideologically, really. ---

[/QUOTE] Awhile back in the pit in response to Der Trihs wishing death on American soldiers I made the statement that, “I wished death on people who wished death on American soldiers” (something to that effect) and I was scolded for it, at least to my memory. I could search this up, but I don’t remember enough of the specifics to have any good search terms. Let’s not forget in the very same thread where Der Trihs posted there, were posting active duty members of the United States Armed Forces, so I fail to see how his actions were okay and mine were not, but whatever. ---

**Der Trihs** , I hope you reconsider your statement concerning the deaths of American soldiers. I hope that was just a moment of anger and frustration. There are so many reasons why this is a bad position to take; that those soldiers are “doing the bidding of an evil man” isn’t sufficient to wish their demise. That’s way too simple a view, particularly coming from you. Just as the Iraqi people are complex and multi-faceted, so are the motivations and actions of the men and women who agree to serve this country. While some accuse you of cynicism, I see an overreaching idealism that’s really hard to sustain in this human life. Good men and women find themselves in despicable settings at times, and most of them will still remain good men and women. Consider how much worse the situation would be if the vast majority of our soldiers weren’t basically honorable people. ---
