I’ve been down this road before. The Democrats only attain power by rigging elections, and the few who really vote for them have been kept in the dark by their propaganda wing, which is the entire media (minus a few true patriots). And everyone to the left of Olympia Snowe is a double agent for … somebody.

How the Democrats can be so efficiently sinister at controlling elections and the media, and so bad at pretty much everything else is something I’d love to hear explained.

Dude, you don’t get to just switch everything to the passive voice and pretend like it’s not saying the same thing. Your ability to be intentionally obtuse is remarkable sometimes.
“She didn’t say to go out and kill elected officials, she just said that maybe it’s time for someone to take guns and overthrow the government! Totally different!”

In fairness, the “elected officials” could easily throw up their hands and surrender. And if they don’t and end up getting shot, well, that’s really their fault, isn’t it?

> **Merneith** , I’m not saying that both sides are wrong. I’m saying that that kind of talk is wrong regardless of side and especially if you are going to criticize one side for doing it. Doesn’t particularly matter the scale either. If you think that kind of talk is wrong, then it’s wrong. You can’t draw a wiggly little line and say that it’s okay because it’s just online and he’s not really important anyways. You’re doing the exact same stupid crap as Glenn Beck does when he says “I’m just a radio clown” and when Sarah Palin says “I’m not an elected official, just a concerned citizen.”

1. You personally may not have said the words “both sides are wrong.” But you -are- postulating that both sides are doing it, and pointing to Der Tris as an example.

2. I’ve said repeatedly that I reject the idea that the quote in the op is inciting left wing violence. I say it again. I read that quote the way John Mace did. There - you can agree with him, if you don’t want to agree with me.

3. I’ve said repeatedly that I don’t think it’s reasonable to ignore the difference in standing between a private citizen mouthing off on a random message board and public, popular media figures and politicians with massive salaries and direct influence over our national affairs..

The difference between Der Trihs saying he’s a private citizen and Beck or Palin saying they’re just private citizens is - Beck and Palin are lying.

At approximately 7:11 a.m. EDT, 22-year-old Richard Poplawski opened fire on two Pittsburgh Police officers responding to a 9-1-1 call from Poplawski's mother, who was attempting to get the police officers to remove her son from the home. The shooter was Richard Poplawski. He and his mother got in an argument, she called 911, he shot at the responding officers killing 3 and woulding 2 others.

From Wiki:
Edward Perkovic, a friend of Poplawski, said the gunman feared “the Obama gun ban that’s on the way” and “didn’t like our rights being infringed upon”. Perkovic also stated that Poplawski “didn’t like the Zionists controlling the media and controlling, you know, our freedom of speech” and that “He didn’t like the control of the guns that was about to happen. He believed everything our forefathers put before us and thought that it was being distorted.” Another longtime friend, Aaron Vire, said that Poplawski feared President Obama was going to take away his rights.

“The Obama Gun Ban”, “They’re trampling on our rights”, and “They’re destroying our forefather’s nation” are all common right-wing themes, promoted by notable conservative politicians and media figures.. The extra dose of anti-semitism doesn’t cancel that out.

Poplawski survived. His trial starts April 25.

[The Manifesto of Austin Texas Crash Pilot Joseph Andrew Stack - Business Insider](http://www.businessinsider.com/joseph-andrew-stacks-insane-manifesto-2010-2) \<-html version

Stack isn’t just ‘anti-IRS’, he’s anti government - both common rightwing themes. His “manifesto” is the story of how he’s been fighting the government (and failing to pay his taxes) to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars for his whole adult life. It’s never his fault he loses his money, it’s never his fault he tries to avoid taxation - it’s always the sleazy, corrupt government.

Guess which political party has spent the last decades insisting that government is the problem, that government screws over all the the little people, that the IRS is our enemy, that taxes are unfairly taking “our” money - Did you say, “The Rightwing Republican party?” You did? Then you answered correctly.

Fuckwit also burned down his own family’s home while he was at. Attacking the governement was more important to him than providing a home for his child.

It’s a shame, but [hutaree.com](http://hutaree.com) seems to be offline. Their “Beast Watch” page was excellent.

I’ll quote Wiki on them, briefly:

> [@](#):
>
> Hutaree is a militia movement group adhering to the Christian Patriot movement, based in Adrian, Michigan, in the United States.
>
> The group was formed in early 2008. The name “Hutaree” appears to be a neologism; the group’s web site says that it means “Christian warriors”.
>
> The group was allegedly preparing for what they believed would be an apocalyptic battle with the forces of the Antichrist, who they believed would be supported and defended by local, state and federal police departments. On their website, all police and military members who would support the current U.S. system of local, state or federal government were described as members of the “brotherhood”, and were considered by the Hutaree to be “enemies”. [1]

So yeah, definitely a Christian-centered militia. The asses they wanted to kick were those of US government and law enforcement, whom Hutaree considered their “enemies” and associated with the Antichrist.

And apparently, there’s a whole Christian Patriot movement within the overall ‘militia’ structure (in so far as it’s structed, anyway.) It’s not too surprising - Christianity and the militia movement are both big enough that there was bound to be some overlap, just like there is with Christianity and white supremicism (undoubtedly, there’s a possible Venn diagram with all three.)

As a group, they are pro-Ron Paul, and anti-UN, common right wing themes. Their immediate plan was to kill a LEO in Michigan and then attack the various officials (and their offices) during the first guy’s funeral.

So, you know: right wing nutjobs, involved in a right-wing movement, believing right wing propaganda.

And when they are right on a regular basis then we are living in interesting times. Personally I find DT less annoying and fanatic than you, xtisme, but both of you have perspectives that I value.

Real Civil War, not like the army set pieces we had in this country from 1861 to 1865, is beyond awful. Look at what Thucydides describes in Corinth, and what happened at the fall of the Roman Republic with Sulla and thereafter. It was an outright horror. If it happens in this country, with our hundreds of millions of firearms, it will make Stalin look civilized.

This is why lefties (I would have been a moderate in the early 70s with the same opinions) feels that all of Fox News is dangerous, that Sarah Palin and Sharon Angle and Limbaugh are dangerous and not mere entertainment. They may justify it to themselves as making their personal fortunes, but it is very dangerous, even if legal. Being a bill collector is legal too, and it doesn’t undermine the fabric of society.

Should the people decide he and Congress have gone the wrong way anyway, neither Obama or Pelosi have done anything at all to prevent people from removing them via the ballot box later.

So, thanks for taking the time to find and post links to your cites. 🙂

Again, you miss the point. I’m not using false equivalance to say that both sides are just as wrong. I’m saying that it’s wrong no matter the side. Just because one side does it more or worse doesn’t make it better or right for you to do it.

I’ve actually agreed with both of you, though it’s nice you think I simply won’t agree with you out of some personal reason. My point is that while he doesn’t say it, you can rather easily interpret something that he didn’t mean into it. Much like the gun rally I pointed to earlier or Sarah Palin’s adorable little map with the crosshairs. It’s doubtful that either one of them wanted violence and entirely possible that they didn’t think anything like this would happen, but it did because morons spouted ill concieved words in a rush to gain attention. It’s all hyperbole until someone takes it seriously. Der Trihs saying something that could be interpreted as a threat while raging against those using words that have been interpreted as a threat is just too damned delicious.

And I don’t think it’s reasonable to excuse that kind of talk at all simply because DT hasn’t published a book yet. He’s just as much an annoying extremist dick as Beck or Palin. The things he says are nearly as stupid. The republicans, as a party, are going to keep using the violence talk as long as they aren’t the ones getting shot? Really? Even if you discount the threat interpretation, that’s still blindingly stupid and worth calling out on that alone.

Please. You just don’t give a shit because DT is on your side. You’re just as much a partisan hack as those excusing the right.

How many people listen to **Der Trihs’s** show again? What did **Der Trihs** say the last time he was invited to comment by a major network? How did **Der Trihs’s** last Vice Presidential run go?

Talk about missing the fucking point.

The gold bit is from his youtube channel. That’s pretty well documented. The rest is conjecture.

What’s the lefty talk from? One chick that last talked to him 4 years ago?
