Well, it’s been a good year for me on the SDMB. I have fought some ignorance, and some of my ignorance has been fought. I’ve learned more than I ever thought I would. And I’ve had plenty of fun. It’s hard to believe it’s only been a year, but only 366 ago (2000 was a leap year) I was a rank newbie with zero posts to my name and nary a sig. Since then, I’ve laughed and cried with the SDMB crowd, and I’ve joined other message boards as well. I’ve learned how two-faced the worst people can be, but I’ve also learned of the amazing kindness of total strangers. I’ll probably never see any of your faces, or even hear any of your voices, but I think I have more than a nodding relationship with some of the posters here. I think I’ve been at once humbled and ennobled by my time here: Humbled because I’ve found people who can verbally and mentally take me to the cleaners, but ennobled because those mental giants have taken the time to lift me above my former level. I am proud to be a Teeming Millionth. I am proud to know the SDMB. ---
