dono takes the cake with someone else’s spit cup. Eulrgh. I guess because that’s easier for me to wrap my disgusted mind around than wormy goaf hoof-and-eyeball soup and the other exotic stuff some of you have suffered through.

Jesus, I am still shuddering.

She turned her back for a moment, and I stuck my finger in a bowl of this fluffy, creamy white stuff she had in a bowl, thinking that it was frosting. It was Crisco! EWWWWW! \*\*

I had a similar experience growing up–my mother was on an economy kick and was recycling left over soap by melting them down and pouring them into a cupcake mold. Somehow my brother convinced me to taste one, saying it was a new candy recipe. Mmm. Tasty.

Balut. Duck egg _with duck fetus_. Unsettling consistency. Filipino mother laughed heartily at the faces I made.

I really enjoy most “icky” things that come from the sea - raw sea urchin is a favorite, as are squid ink, tiny fish with eyeballs, you name it - but partially developed embryos never sit right with me.

Those are _good_! In my opinion, any halfway decent Chinese buffet should have those. I agree, though, that stale ones are nasty. They’re best when they’re fresh from the oil. Then again, most anything can be made edible if you fry it long enough…

Oh, my. You reminded me. The following weren’t really disgusting-tasting, they just gross people out when I tell them.

Ants are about what you expect - very crunchy, a little tangy.

Termites are really good, fried. Like bacos. I would totally eat a salad covered in fried termites.

Grubs are a little problematic. I’ve seen them alive, wriggling in a plastic bag (like you get at the grocery store), their little white boddies making the bag go crinklecrinklecrinkle. Then I ate one, fried, and it was kinda like eating fried bacon fat - not too great. That and the memory (krinklekrinkle) and I don’t think I’d suck those things down.

I personally think that “bad” calamari is horrible - the kind that tastes like they took a rubber band, dipped it in some sort of fishy batter and then fried it. I think it’s the texture that does it. Argh.

eggs cooked with BBQ sauce. I used to make different kinds of scrambled eggs all the time, I love anything BBQ, so i figured it would be good. I WAS WRONG!!!. The water in the sauce separed from the flavor and made huge warm water puddles in my eggs, the eggs them selve turned shit-brown. I figured "It’l taste better than it looks’. I was SO WRONG. It tasted like it looked, soggy, chewy, shitty,EGGS.

Not really food, but I once ate several fresh flowers. They tasted kind of like how they smell, but still awful.
