I haven’t come up with my own answer yet, but Steve’s was “A group of old outlaws vacation in Mexico” Treasure of the Sierra Madre? and his son Joe’s was “Three men spend the weekend fishing”. A modern remake of Moby Dick, but with spaceships. Ahab still dies unsatisfied. They did leave out the whale biology lectures, though. ST:TWoK ANOTHER remake of Moby Dick, with spaceships, with the lead played by a guy that later played Ahab in a period piece version. Ahab survives and defeats the “whale”, totally missing the point of MD. ST:First Contact ---
