# Designated troll?

I thought trolling earned a ban. I just noticed that the user songsearch has the title “designated troll.” If the moderators have decided E’s a troll, why isn’t Ē banned?

I believe that the poster in question put that title on himself.
Which pretty well answered the question as to whether or not he was trolling.
He has a new title, bequeathed by the mods, of “BANNED: TROLLING”.
I’m sure he will soon earn a new title of “BANNED: SOCKING”

It defaults to be the same as your username, but you can change it if you want under your profile

He actually entered “Designated Troll” in the “About Me” section of the profile himself. That’s what’s showing up in his profile. “BANNED: TROLLING” was entered as his title after he was banned.

When I reported the poster, I actually thought that might have been the intent. It’s the only way giving yourself such an obvious trolling name made any sense to me.

In the military we had the concept of the “designated mort”: the guy selected to be at greatest risk of taking the first bullet for the team, thereby highlighting the enemy’s positions.
I can think of many trolls I’d like to designate for morting.

Was he banned for a posting that could justify being classified as a troll? Or just for using an unauthorized word in his title? What other words are ban-worthy in that usage?
What about “two-year-old”? I think you have to be 12 or something.

I can tell you he wasn’t banned for just his name. _(it wasn’t a title)_.
After discussion he was banned for trolling the board. Not the pit thread, that was basically kosher if pushing the limit but the total package of his GD/P&E/IMHO posts, his Pit stuff added to it and of course the “Designate Troll” as a name was the catalyst that got the discussion started.
