> Well, if your old college girlfriends didn’t have an issue, obviously no women can, right? You tell those ninnies!

See, what I love about the “my old girlfriends never had a problem” is that OF COURSE all of his girlfriends _would_ have confided in him that hey, these “rooster combs” can be uncomfortable at times. I am sure they also would have said “rooster combs.” It’s completely un-possible that some women might not mention it if there was discomfort involved at times. And as you pointed out, even if it’s true that not one of the rooster combs he encountered were an issue for _those_ women, it MUST follow that no other woman has ever experienced such a thing!

The quality of hair one is endowed with is intrinsically better than another. When did this sort of self-loathing and quasi self-mutilation come into being? Can we blame our consumerist culture that envokes shame about our bodies to sell products that will fix us?

Actual conversation with my grandfather several yesrs ago as I helped him to the bathroom (he was in his 90’s):
Him (pulling down his pants, preparing to sit on the toilet): Now comes the dangerous part!
Me: Uhm, dangerous?
Him: Yep. Gotta make sure I don’t sit on my balls! Hurts like hell!

I once heard a guy describe spreading the legs of one of his conquests like opening up an Arby’s sandwich. Talk about hitting below the belt.

There are definitely a lot of guys who prefer bigger lips though. Not sure if there’s a clever name for it. But there are numerous sites dedicated to just that. Or so I hear.

This nonsense would stop if women would decide that anyone who has a problem with the appearance of her labia doesn’t get to see them – or her – again. Also, no blowjobs, ever.

I think that the men would keep talking trash to each other, though. I mean, I have never heard anything negative about my bits. I prefer to think that it’s because said bits are marvelous and perfect. But I know it’s because if there is something aesthetically unfortunate down there, most gentlemen would never say so within my hearing.

I’m going to stick to the marvelous and perfect interpretation, though.

People can certainly modify their bodies in anyway they choose. It’s entirely their choice. I just found it incredible that something not visible to many people (except lovers) would get surgically altered. I’m not letting anybody take a scalpel to my man bits. 😉 Trimming or shaving pubic hair is trivial compared to that. I trim because my wife prefers it and its easy.

I erred in the OP by stating a preference. That is strictly my own preference. I never in any way let it affect my choices in girlfriends. That would be beyond shallow to break up with somebody because of the appearance of their private bits. I’d hope no guy would be that immature and uncaring.

Rooster comb is a term of affection. As I said earlier, they can be used to stimulate the clitoris. Tug on them very, very tenderly with your teeth. You’ll hear a sigh of satisfaction. It’s worked for me since my high school days. Birth control was a big concern in my high school days. I had a lot of goals in my life, college, sports, and starting a career. Raising a baby at 19\* was not going to happen\*. Oral sex was the alternative and just as much fun in my car’s back seat. Learning to do it right meant keeping my steady GF. Real sex came later with my first live in GF in college that was on the pill.

> Men prefer smaller labia.

The study doesn’t actually say this. Rather large percentages of men don’t care.
With regard to preferences, more respondents considered smaller labia attractive compared to large labia, yet 36% remained neutral.
They don’t give the percentage which preferred smaller labia, or indicate that the difference was significant. Even if twice as many men preferred smaller labia as preferred larger ones (42% of the total vs 21%, of the 64% that had a preference), that would mean that a majority of men (36% + 21% = 57%) preferred larger labia or didn’t care.

> [@The study](#):
>
> Whereas 51% of participants felt the appearance of a woman’s labia influenced their desire to engage in sexual activity, 60% denied it affected sexual pleasure.

Some of that 51% would have included men who preferred large labia. Since 49% of males didn’t care, a majority of men would have had no preference for small labia.

> [@The study](#):
>
> Only 42% of men were familiar with labiaplasty, and **75% of all respondents would not encourage a female partner to change her genital appearance.**
Conclusion
In this national survey, men demonstrated familiarity with the female anatomy, but many did not feel it impacted sexual desire or pleasure. **Moreover, the majority lacked strong preferences for a specific vulvar appearance and would not encourage a female partner to surgically alter her genital appearance.**
Bolding mine.

> [@raventhief](#):

While men may talk trash about a lot of things, I personally have never heard anyone say anything about labia.

Some women are perfectly capable of feeling insecure about parts of their bodies that men are not that concerned about. 😉

The first link in my OP goes to a medical article with pictures in a slideshow. The first photo displayed, when you open the article, is safe for work. You have to click and view the other photos that are NSFW. Just clicking that article won’t bring up anything that would be NSFW. The publisher made sure of that.

The second link is in a spoiler box because it goes directly to a NSFW photo. I don’t understand why Tapatalk would display that photo without clicking the link.

But moreso, I think the issue is that I don’t think you like the post surgery look as much as the pre-surgery look. You mentioned that several times in the OP.
>
> In post two, you tell women how they should trim their pubic hair, because a little triangle is what appeals to you.

It is entirely possible for him to defend the right of women to control their own bodies right down to strictly cosmetic preferences AND for him to have a personal preference that he, personally, likes but doesn’t necessarily wish to forcibly impose on anyone. Geez, it’s like if I guy says “I like redheads”, he’s most likely not insisting all women go out and dye their hair red, or that he won’t associate with someone non-redhead, he just _prefers_ that.

Which is how I interpreted his comments. YMMV.
