The whole chopping part of your dick off discussion again. Here two sources, one US based and one UK based. They pretty much agree on the fact that the only benefits are reducing the risks of already rare conditions, which can also (and better) be prevented through other means. Final conclusion from the Mayo clinic: benefits \> risks. Final conclusion from the NHS: risks\> benefits. Me feels a bit of confirmation bias of one considers to be “standard” procedure. If doctors are doing abdominal surgery in that general area, they often do their in a preventative appendectomy. The risks of opening up the abdomen are greater than the benefits of removing a normal appendix, though. ---

All this talk of designer vaginas make me think it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing vagina designers. And of course, first among them will be Vera Wang. Now that I’ve got THAT out of my system, maybe I’ll be able to sit through church this morning without breaking into fits of giggling. ---

The doctor said something to the effect that it appeared she had paid special attention to things prior to her visit. I found this thread interesting because apparently I’ve dated super models all my life and didn’t know it. No comment on the nip and tuck surgery other than the image of a woman looking in a mirror trying to decide on the perfect length. What does she then say to the surgeon? IIRC, this involves using a laser to scar the vagina (no, I don’t mean vulva). This makes it tighter. It’s possible that having a vagina full of scar tissue doesn’t decrease the woman’s sexual pleasure. But, I can’t imagine that being so. ---

Are you effing kidding? I don’t think penises (or rather: men’s reptilian brains) particularly care what a vagina _looks_ like. They’re generally just happy to have a one-on-one encounter with one (hopefully a HUMAN one). “Designer vaginas”? As S.I. might put it: “This Week’s Sign of The Apocalypse”. ---
