No, the narrator is Mary Alice, Paul’s late wife and Zach’s mother (she committed suicide). We’ve never met Deidre in any manner. ---

To me, the simplest answer is that Deirdre’s dad is paying the cop so that Mike doesn’t get thrown in the slammer. Clear him of any suspicion in Ms. Huber’s death and also clear him of suspicion in the home invasion case where Mike was shot. ---
