Despicable Me...Anyone Seen It?

Mr. singular and I laughed more throughout this movie than any I can remember this year. I desperately want a minion or twelve! We will definitely see this again in the theater - something we rarely do. It is as close to perfect as an animated film can be. I actually got vertigo from the delightful roller coaster sequence, and I was on the edge of my seat thru the final rescue scene in the air.

The roller coaster ride was a nice use of 3D.

Also, there was a fun let’s-play-with-3D segment during the credits.

I enjoyed the movie. I’d put in in the very-good-but-not-great category.

Oh and I also liked the:

BANK OF EVIL
(Formerly Lehman Brothers)

gag.

Saw it opening weekend with my parents (Dad’s 50, Mom’s 49), my husband (24) and my brother (22).

We thought it was fund. Better than we thought it would be going into it.

My dad spent the rest of the weekend talking about how he wished he had a minion. He thought those were the best. He wanted minions.

I thought the little girl was absolutely adorable. “It’s so fluffy I’m gonna DIE!”

Here’s one.

I found Despicable Me to be pretty funny, but it was just shy of being really great. I’d put few animated movies in that category, Toy Story 3 being one of them.

Like others mentioned earlier, I really dug the squid gun. The evil equipment was all very funny, including Gru’s jet and tank/car.

I saw it tonight and really enjoyed it. Plenty of funny lines, and a couple of excellent voice cameos.
This is now the second 3D movie I have seen and I really enjoyed it. The roller coaster scene was very fun. This wasn’t a Pixar movie, but I still enjoyed it. I agree with whoever it was that said Agnes reminded them of Boo - me too! That is who I thought of right when I saw her. Boo a couple of years older. And I thought the miinions were a lot like those alien characters in Toy Story. Also, Gru would fit in pretty well in a Roald Dahl novel (Well, perhaps cut out some of the sentimentality). I mean these as compliments, not complaints that they ripped someone off. Just that the design evokes earlier great works.

Fun time at the movies. If it adds anything to the demographic data - I’m 36. I went with another 30 year old and we both liked it.

We saw it last night and we loved it. It was funny and adorable and the minions were just perfect! When one of them cracked another and he lit up like a glow stick we just about died laughing. I think we got more emotionally invested in it than most people would because we are planning to adopt a child someday so seeing the kids in the adoption agency and watching them bond with their adopted parent touched us in a way that I don’t think it would have necessarily touched others. The last 3D movie we saw was How To Train Your Dragon and that was better but this was still very good. I highly recommend it!

I took the nephew to see it and giggled a lot more than I expected. Loved this part:

“Read us a story, pretty please???”

“The physical appearance of the please does not matter!”

Heh.

He reminded me Dilbert’s boss.

One thing that got to me was that in a movie where Villians have their own banking system, the most evil character in the movie was the woman who ran the adoption agency.

That line is still cracking me up.

It’s so fluffy I could just die!!!

I flat out loved it. Celtling did too. I’m still trying to figure out who the oldest girl reminds me of. Is it Janine Garafolo?!? She looks exactly like . . . er . . . SOMEbody. . .

The small one. . . .from Las Vegas. . . .
