bumblebees can sting multiple times; they don’t have barbed stingers.
Lowes Canada also has their own line but I can’t link to the description, just to the Lowes main page. It’s called “Get Lost Wasp”. Surely Lowes US would have that product available for Floridians. ![]()
You should try to find out what kind of bees you have around your house .
I have a wooden deck and there was a bees nest under my deck , the bees were so aggressive that I couldn’t sit on my deck with my dog. I found out they were
carpenter bees which are very aggressive and destroy wood . I had to kill the bees before they destroyed my condo new wooden deck . I sound like you could have carpenter bees too.
This is the SDMB. We’re ALL nerds. Or should be ;).
Hymenoptera includes all the bees, hornets, wasps and, conveniently enough, ants. So after a day spent being stung serially by a Carpenter Bee, a Tarantula Hawk, a European Hornet, a Cow Killer and a whole colony full of Fire Ants, you can cheerfully curse all hymenoptera to heck :p.
Hymenoptera came to mind immediately, but I thought that there might be a monophyletic clade within Hymenoptera that included all wasps, bees, etc. but excluded ants. But nope, some googling shows that ants are firmly embedded with bees and such within Apocrita (which is smaller than Hymenoptera, but not not satisfyingly so.)
