Every time I sit down at the computer, I have this wish that my computer would take me to places I haven’t been before and then walk me down a path of more detail where I cold veer off if something caught my attention. I do this on my own all the time but it is a slow process where I spend a lot of time going down the wrong paths. I have to assume people are working on this. How advanced has this become? I can see where some aspects of this could be very redundant but the number of potential pathways is almost limitless.

You can always go to Google and click “I’m Feeling Lucky” if I’m understanding you right.

I am looking for something that will outhink me in my searches and expose me to things I may not be aware of just based off my past searches

That’s basically what [StumbleUpon](https://www.stumbleupon.com/) is. Which has mainly been supplanted by reddit.

Look something, anything at all, up on wikipedia. Then click on any blue link you see that you might be interested in reading about (or think you might be interested in). Continue doing so until you’ve found yourself sufficiently deep in an interesting rabbit hole or you’ve made your way to the article on philosophy (which can be an interesting ride in and of itself).

> Clicking on the first link in the main text of an English Wikipedia article, and then repeating the process for subsequent articles, usually leads to the Philosophy article. In February 2016, this was true for 97% of all articles in Wikipedia, an increase from 94.52% in 2011. The remaining articles lead to an article without any outgoing wikilinks, to pages that do not exist, or get stuck in loops.

Yes, I know, it doesn’t always work.

This is what I do now and it works pretty good. I really feel like I struck gold when I find something new.
