Why are they called “Deviled Eggs”? Any idea on the origins there? Doing an internet search has turned up minimal results, and searching here I can’t seem to find that this question has ever been asked.

So, basically, why are they called “Deviled Eggs”?

Thanks. 🙂

I think it’s the ham’s fault.

> A: “Devil” in this sense means to heavily season a food, usually with hot spices (hot things being associated with the Devil).
