Anyone out there discover this gem of a series?

I’m not sure my descriptions can do it justice.

Basically it’s a blend of noir with magic. Magic is discovered to be a real energy that everyday people can tap into and use. The gotcha is that the cost of using the force is pain - the more magic expended the worse the pain upto and including death. The setting is modern Portland, OR, not a dungeons and dragons type world. Though the day-to-day technology seems normal, I feel there’s a BladeRunner vibe to it.

There are the usual hidden forces/groups at work too.

There are currently 4 books with a fifth due in November.
