When I attempted to explain that I am unable to eat fish due to a rare inflammatory bowel disease, “Mercedes” _visibly rolled her eyes_ and said “$3.34 please” in what I found to be a very INSOLENT tone of voice. Needless to say, I was _ **FLABBERGASTED** _. As a longtime customer, I have always perceived Burger King to be company that keeps its word. If “special orders don’t upset us” is no longer a company policy, you OBVIOUSLY need to make some sort of public announcement clarifying the new policy. For example, “special orders MAY upset us,” or perhaps a detailed list of what does and does not constitute “special.” Without accurate information about your policies and rules, we as customers are _flying BLIND_ in SKIES OF CHAOS!!! I look forward to your speedy and thorough response to my concerns. It would be a shame if I were forced to relinquish my BK® CROWN CARD and patronize JACK IN THE BOX instead. Whatever **Oakminster** is trying to do with this thread, you folks piling on is not improving the situation. Rehashing the whole incident yet again is not helping. **Oakminster** , I have a hard time believing you are seriously confused in this matter. It _seems_ more likely that you are just trying to poke mods with a stick. If I were **Dex** , I certainly would feel that way. _I_ would _probably_ try to answer you seriously anyway, assuming I saw the thread, but given the nature of everything going on and your tone, it certainly comes off as more hystrionics to bash mods rather than a sincere search for clarity about something confusing. They gave hundreds of people _e. coli_ back in the 90’s, whereas we’ve had less than a dozen confirmed cases that were directly attributable to us. This is the sort of nonsense I’m talking about. Your interpreting my words in the light most offensive to you is one thing. Suggesting that my clarification is backing away from that interpretation is foolish, but you then assume that’s what a clarification means, and you move forward from that assumption. It’s this sort of selective hyperparsing of words that the OP is engaging in with Dex. Unlike what BigT thinks about himself and Jesus, it doesn’t work: if anything, it seems likelier to make mods think people objecting to mod decisions are whining about nothing. ---

We don’t usually play this card, but **C K Dexter Haven** has much more important things happening in his life right now and isn’t going to have time to deal with this discussion in the immediate future. I think it’s unseemly to let this go on indefinitely when he has things of actual import to attend to, so I’m closing this thread. I think the question was already given a full answer, but **Dex** can come back to this thread and respond when he has the time. ---

My apologies. As noted, Real Life has sort of intruded and I’ve been on the SDMB very little (and this will probably continue for a while.) When I do have SD time, it’s spent handling Cecil’s Mail, for which I’m not paid, as opposed to moderatoring, for which I’m not paid. Anyhow, Real Life stresses obviously caused me to miscount the moderator voting tally. Or, perhaps, my computer has caught a miscounting virus, it’s the sort of last drop to overflow the camel’s cup that Murphy’s Law would dictate.
