> Gotta agree that Hanna f’d up big time. Instead of using Deb’s name she should have used Rita’s.

That would have been an even bigger red flag - as it is, Deb could die her hair blonde and just call it ‘mistaken identity’, you’re not bring Rita back from the dead.

I’m interested to see how they play it out - and I fully realize no matter how they do it, we (the audience) will not likely be happy with it.

I thought it was hilarious that - Right after - I mean moments after - the Marshal left, Deb (who was watching Harrison, alone, right?) had to leave -

That Marshal needs to talk to Raylan and get a refresh course in ‘spot the bullshit’.

Just wild speculation - but perhaps in the last three minutes of the series, as Dex and Hana and Harrison are driving to the airport to whisk off to their happy new life in Argentina - the stoned daughter will have a head on collision with them - killing Dex and Hanna - and leaving poor Harrison in a pool of blood - just like daddy started off?

That makes as much sense as anything else that’s happened in the last three or four seasons of _Dexter_.

Giving Deb’s name would lead to Deb, but giving Rita’s name leads nowhere as Rita is dead. Maybe it doesn’t matter but that’s how I see it.

So is this the second or third time that Harrison does something stupid? I said earlier that I hoped Harrison would simply disappear again from the storylines, now I’m rooting for his gruesome murder.

Since Harrison was the one being treated - all roads lead back to Deb/Dexter - she could have put “Martha Washington” or 'Jamie Fucking Quinn" down and he would still go looking there.

What would have been funny is if she signed in with “Harrison’s Mom” or if she was really ballsy, “Hanna Morgan”.

I was going to post a separate thread on this, but this seems to be the best place to ask. HS Dexter Jumped the Shark?

I can’t watch this season. At all. And I’ve tried. I’m a big Dexter fan, but I have not been able to watch the show and take it seriously since Deb caught Dexter killing some guy, and helped him cover it up instead of turning him in.

That seemed so contrived to me, like they had finally run out of logical plots. And this season, I can’t get through one episode. Dexter a mentor? Everyone knows this guy is a serial killer, and now he’s teaching… Take an ad out in the yellow pages.

This season sucks.

From what I understand, in the books the show is based on Debra finds out Dexter’s secret and starts helping him fairly early on, like maybe in the second book.

Never read them so can’t say for sure, though.

_Dexter_ had been heading toward the ramp for a while but completely took the jump with season 6. It’s such a shame because this used to be my favorite show and now it’s just ridiculous. This may go down as the worst final season in the history of television. The writers knew this was the final season and this is the best they could come up with? Awful.

The computer bullshit almost made me stop watching and resolve myself to never watch the remaining episodes.

Last week we had the “age-the-old-photo-facial-recognition” software, which I sort of rolled my eyes at…but this week they took it waaaay too far with the “Reverse lookup his IP address using the killer’s spyware on his mother’s laptop and now you can grab files off _his_ laptop” software. That’s so utterly preposterous that I could hardly believe what I was seeing.

They’re basically going through the motions now. It will be amusing that Michael C. Hall will have been involved in arguably one of the greatest TV series endings, and now probably one of the worst.

That’s true. I was a big fan of _Six Feet Under_ and the final episode was excellent.

Yea, this season hasn’t even been entertaining as a train-wreck. Kinda bizzare, they don’t seem to have even tried to come up with an interesting way to end it.

Somehow this season is even worse than the one with Colin Hanks! If it wasn’t the final season I wouldn’t even have bothered sticking with it, but I want to see how they wrap it all up.

Hate Hannah, am rooting for her bloody demise.

(It’s still not as bad as what the books became, at least. I think it was the third or fourth, where we learn that

a demon did it. No, really. Dexter is possessed by an evil spirit and that’s why he’s a serial killer. His Dark Passenger is a real entity.

I think if they’d done that in this season, it would actually be an improvement. Its stupid, but at least its an interesting kinda stupid. Instead of stupid and boring, which is what we’re left with.

I’m glad I’m not the only one…, not that I wanted this show to JTS, but when a show goes from an “I can’t wait until next week/season/whatever” to “what else is on? This is offending my brain”, I knew something was up.

As for Debra helping him earlier on from the book this is based on, maybe if this happened earlier in the series, like in the second or at the latest third season, maybe I could buy it. But her character was so well defined, that whatever the book said about her was thrown out, as far as I’m concerned. Deb just would not do that.

And there are som many smaller plot holes that have built up over the years as to make it laughable. How many people hae found his blood slides in his air conditioning unit? This guy has a very expensive boat in Miami, and a civil service job. He couldn’t afford a safely deposit box for his slides? I’m just saying.

Too many people around him die. Anyone who gets close to him dies, and no one sees the connection. He kills people in his own unit, and still, nothing.

I could go on and on. I think maybe like the Sopranos, this one held on just too long. The Sopranos final season is very unwatchable. I know because i own it and have tried a number of times. The bad acting, the preposterous story lines, the ending of the show… All just sucked In a way HBO shows never do. Dexter (I know, SHO) feels very similar to me. They know how they want to end it, but they had a seasons worth of shows to make up until they can end it. So, what we see are filler shows, and filler scripts that most of us who have watched the show religiously can’t get into. It’s a shame, really. But I’ve stopped watching actively. I think a lot of people have also, because SHO has been running Dexter marathons for this seasons episodes like never before. Usually, they would show the previous weeks show and this weeks. But the last two weekends, they’ve run all of this seasons shows back to back. I’m wondering if they are noticing a huge drop in viewers too.

Maybe that was a Labor Day weekend thing?

Only 2 episodes left in the series. Might be worth it to hold out for 2 more hours just for closure.

Six Feet Under had perhaps one of the greatest series finales of all time - thus, I am still holding out for this show to go out with a surprise bang…Michael C. Hall is no fool, and as producer and lead actor, I can’t imagine there is not at least an ending that will make us all sit up and say, “Crap - didn’t see that coming!”

Well, I certainly hope you’re right and that all of the OBVIOUS things that happened this season were just pre-payment on a shocking finale, but I think it’s just going to be more predictable drivel.

Harrison’s jackassery on the treadmill was hilarious. You could tell the kid was trying not to laugh with all the bloody makeup on his chin.

Why would Hanna say she’s his mom and give Deb’s name? That made no sense. Why not simply say she was the babysitter and give a totally made-up name?

I still say Dexter is one of the most selfish parents in TV history. Okay, let’s uproot little Harrison from his school, his friends, his babysitter-who-raised-him and take him to ARGENTINA to grow up with a wanted fugitive and always be on the run. Nice.

Can’t wait to see how they finish the entire story, just so I don’t have to put up with these idiot characters any longer.
