# Dexter: It's Official - Upcoming Season Will Be Last Season

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this upcoming season of Dexter will be the last.

Granted, [if you read the article closely](http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/dexter-final-season-8-video-442231), they are still allowing the slightest of wiggle-room while writing the last episodes, just in case - but the trailers are now advertising this as “the final season” of Dexter.

Great series - and will be interested to see how they wrap this up.  
Will Dexter die a violent death, or will he go off peacefully into the sunset?
