This _has_ to be the case! I’ll be so disappointed if it is Anton.

Why would Anton be the shooter? What have I missed that makes him a possible villain? Deb sleeping with Lundy isn’t enough, IMHO. Besides, did Lundy ever meet Anton? It looked like he recognized the shooter.

Lundy did meet Anton IIRC (Deb was even a little overly affectionate towards Anton to make it clear what was up) but I don’t think anyone seriously suspects it was Anton and it would be dissapointing if it were.

Also keep in mind that Deb is really close to finding out the connection between Harry and Dex’s mom… that might also lead to her finding out about Dex’s brother…

> Caution spoilerish speculation ahead for those who haven’t seen 11/01 episode: does anyone else see Trinity’s gift as the beginning of the end for Dexter? He now “publicly” possesses the murder weapon and the rest of the Mitchells have seen him around. So when Trinity is taken down, presumably near season end, and Dexter shows up for blood forensics, the family will recognize him; some cop(s), probably Quinn, will see that the family recognizes him, sniff something awry, and season 5 will be Doakes redux, except with maybe a more successful outcome for the police.

Dexter will have to make sure not to leave any forensic evidence of Trinity (not that he ever does leave any). If Arthur just up and disappears, a blood spatter analyst wouldn’t be examining his house.

I’m sure at some point Deb is going to find Lundy’s stuff in Dexter’s possession and accuse him of killing Lundy. I just hope they don’t drag that out too much. Actually, I think I’d like to see Deb find out about Dexter and be cool with it.
I’m not sure what to think about Lundy’s actual killer. When he was killed, I thought of five possibilities:

1. Trinity - Obvious, but I doubt it’ll be him since there will surely be a twist in the case. I do hope it’s not him, since that would be too anti-climactic.

2. Anton - jilted ex-lover. Follows Deb around and loses it, killing Lundy and making it look like the Vacation Murderers. I hope it’s not him, because that’s too predictable, plus no-one is that unlucky in love, not even Deb. Poor Deb.

3. The Vacation Murderers - Too obvious all along, plus it looks like they’ve been officially ruled out now.

4. Quinn - No real reason to suspect him other than they mentioned he was first on the scene after Deb and Lundy were shot. Plus he and Dexter have butted heads a few times already this season, so maybe they did that as some foreshadowing. I don’t really want it to be him either, since I like his character and if Dex has to take him out, it’d be too similar to Doakes.

5. Someone we haven’t seen yet. I’d only want to see this if they can someone bring someone new in and not make it feel like a total cop-out. If they can do that, I’d be all for it, especially since I don’t much care for any of the other possibilities.

I should add that out of the possibilities I listed, I think Anton is the most likely. And you know, if they go that route, I can see a season finale that has Deb killing Anton and Dex letting her and even helping her. That could be interesting.

It’s plenty enough in real life. But I agree it’s a bit weak for the show.

seriously I don’t see where all the people who think it’s Anton being the murderer of Lundy. Where do you guys see it other than being a jilted lover? Did he have a tendency to kill? no. He was a CI, an informant. He was scared of getting a record and being jailed. Why in the hell would he murder for Deb? You guys are seeing something I don’t. It’s not like he won’t get over Deb, he was getting action before Deb showed up. He might be hurt but no way is murder in his stoner head.

As to Quinn being a possibility. I don’t see that either… He’s dirty in the way he’ll take money that’s not his. He’ll close a case as soon as possible where as he should be trying to find the real killer. Like Deb or Lundy, they try to make sure that they have the right killer. Remember when Lundy didn’t want to believe that Doakes was the Bay Harbor Butcher? But he let it slide because the evidence was compelling. Quinn seems to be the guy who is the opposite of Lundy and Deb. He just wants to close the case as soon as possible, he doesn’t care if it’s correct 100%, he wants to get paid for doing the least amount of work.

All signs point to Trinity in my opinion, either that or he got his son/wife/daughter to do it which would be the crazy twist. But I highly doubt he got his family to do it. He needs to complete his ritual of three kills, Lundy be damned to get his in way of completing said ritual. Just like when Dexter was going after Freebo but “accidently” killing Prado’s brother. Something gets in the way of the ritual and threatens your life, you kill what threatens you first and then get on with the ritual.

What I think the end of the season cliffhanger is that Deb and Dex get in on the Trinity kill. Deb sees Dex, Dex lets her have the killing blow. Either that or Deb finally figures out who Dex really is via the old CI contacts of Harry (the dad of Dex and Deb).

My prediction of the season ending episode is most likely wrong tho.

since Jennifer Carpenter said in an interview that she had to sneak onto the set late at night just to see how it all ends. Supposedly just Dex and trinity in the end scenes. She also stated that the cliffhanger is supposed to be mind-blowingly crazy, a game changer that will make the series even better. And Julia Benz said that she never has a scene with Lithgow, so she won’t be dying anytime soon.

I’m actually hoping that Dexter _doesn’t_ kill Trinity, but just lets him go. That would be a nice twist.

There was just a hint of fear in Trinity’s son’s face when Dad told him he needed to get back to work. I think we’ll find that all is not the paradise it seems at home.

Loved the scene with Dexter holding sis’s urn when Arthur walks in. Boy, did that push all his buttons.

Did anyone catch the years/dates of the deaths of Trinity’s family? How close were they together?

If I remember right, they happened within five or six years. Two years between the sister and the mom and then maybe three years later for the dad.

What’s the speculation on the deaths? Three suicides? Two suicides and a murder? One suicide and two murders? I’ve missed a few minutes from each episode, for some reason. Have there been any Trinity flashbacks?

Not only that, but if any or all of them were murders, did Trinity do them?

I’ve always liked Rita, but she is starting to get on my nerves. She has some valid points about Dexter, but she’s being so nasty. It’s such a departure from the Rita from the first episode. It doesn’t always feel like the character grew more confident but that the writers wanted more drama and conflict if she were assertive.

Pretty sure the police would have closed the first two cases as suicide since the father’s death is 5years after the sister. Don’t think people get 5 years minimum for murder even with parole. So most likely sister suicide, mother suicide and father murder was how each of those cases were closed. In reality we won’t know unless Trinity says something to make any of those outcomes different.

Rita can be a bit grating but you have to try and see things from her perspective. Dexter isn’t really all that talkative, she has to piece things together mostly on her own and a wild imagination can get the best of her. Not including Dexter previous “cheating” with Lila and supposed drug addiction. Not sure what else she can be thinking with both those lingering from the past.

I’ve been speculating that maybe Trinity killed his own father, whom he blames in some way for the suicides of his sister and mother (perhaps he abused his sister, who then killed herself, which led to the mother killing herself as well).

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something very similar to this (possibly with sister being killed instead of suicide, not sure - can’t remember if the article suggested either way on this?).

Though wondering whether someone else killed the father, and Trinity is angry/regrets that he wasn’t able (or willing - at the time) to do the deed himself; keeps trying to recreate the scenario with him killing the father himself..

Sister was a suicide - mother and father were first victims of Trinity.

Trinity keeps the ashes of his sister, and has a strong attachment (understatement) - he has/had nothing on his mantle from Mom/Dad.

He likely blamed mom/dad for the death of the sister.

I’m thinking the big twist is that Trinity won’t get his comeuppance. The primary recurring theme is Dexter’s need for a true companion; brother, girlfriend, and apprentice have failed. I’m thinking they’re going to rehash the master/apprentice storyline next season with Trinity as the Sith Lord…errr…master.

It makes sense, Dexter was most tempted by his brother Brian. He respected Brian’s methods, was fascinated by him and the brotherly connection would have pulled him over were it not for Brian’s insistence that they kill Deb. Trinity has Dexter’s respect and Dex has already stated that he needs to learn from Trinity to save his family.

I can only see this happening if Trinity stops the ritual killings. Dexter cares about innocent victims. He won’t let Trinity keep killing.
