> I was a little bothered by how Dex wrapped up both of his loose ends this season. With Miguel, he attempted a copycat killing – and yet apparently removed Miguel’s skin postmortem. I would think that would easily be detected forensically.
>
> Same thing with the skinner. Broken neck, then tossed in front of the car. Maybe I watch too much CSI, but I would think they would be able to tell the death was not car inflicted. Once the cause of death was suspect, any investigation in the warehouse would likely reveal Dexter’s presence (blood, hair, skin cells on the rope, etc.).

He took the knife and rope with him - he was clearly hoping the ‘hit by car, dragged a bit’ would cover up the actual COD - and since the cops believe he (the skinner) jumped in front of the car, its unlikely the Coroner would do much more than “yeah, looks like it”.

Its only when they don’t know the cause of death that (at least in the shows) do the extreme autopsy.

As for Miguel’s connection to the skinner - the Skinner was killing anyone that ‘might’ have information regaurding Freebo’s where abouts - Miguel was a brother of one of Freebo’s customers… its not entirely unreasonable.

That’s right. I forgot they showed Dexter escaping with the rope. I can see the cops not bothering to investigate that death when they think they know the cause.

Miguel on the other hand I think would get more analysis and I don’t think postmortem cuts would survive the scrutiny.

Yeah. And if someone would please hand me my lead balloon, I’ll be on my way.

They can’t all be gems, **Vinyl Turnip**. Your average is still pretty high. 🙂

I’ve never seen the show, but I always get a chuckle from your cynical humor, so you get the benefit of any doubt.

I thought maybe Dex could accidentally-on-purpose contaminate the stuff in the lab, explaining any traces of him, but he’s on his honeymoon.

I liked it more when Dexter was darker but it was still an enjoyable season and I will never complain about more Rita hotness.

Some plot endings felt very rushed. I liked having the skinner’s ridiculous obsession ridiculed by Dexter though.

Did anyone notice how Dexter got a full on maglite blow across the face and didn’t have a single bruise to show for it?

As for Dexter’s DNA showing up on any forensics reports, would they actually run anything against him? It doesn’t seem likely that when they go through the database of DNA/fingerprints/blood etc etc etc they would check it against their own force, unless they had reason to suspect.

In some states any death outside a hospital requires an autopsy even if the cause is obvious like a car wreck. But in obvious cases they might do a quick autopsy rather than a detailed one.

Yes, this offended my sensibilities a little, as well, but it’s not unforgivable.

My only real “WTF!” moment in this whole third series, is when Rita responded to Dexter’s marriage proposal with, “Yes Dexter, **WE** will marry you.” I understand the point behind it, but would anybody really say that?

Says a lot about the overall series, that that is my biggest beef, I suppose? 😃

Just Rita. I’ve known women like that. Everything out of their mouth came from a Hallmark card, or an episode of Dr. Phil.

Anyone wanna bet Dexter revises his code to include people who talk like Thomas Kinkade paints?
