Just found Cathan’s Rule, so I’m moving forward with my sorc (at least until she’s lvl 11.) I think we also recently completed Sazabi’s and Orphans sets. I’m going through and perming the set mules and making a list of items to look out for to complete sets\*: Isenhart’s Parry Iratha’s Cuff Sigon’s Gage (Really?) Death’s Guard. (uhhhh) Vidalas’s Fetlock OK, I’m tired of this now, and I got tempbanned again. Maybe I’ll complete this list later if anyone else is playing. \*Most of these sets are completely worthless. I just like collecting and completing sets. ---

Just because Cathan’s Rule is a staff doesn’t mean that anything in the set is worth bothering with for a sorc. The rings are good for warriors, due to the life leech (you can’t otherwise get 6% life leech on a ring until a much later level), and if you’re using the rings, the amulet gives some nice partial set bonuses, but the rest is only worth it for stamp-collecting. By the way, has anyone seen Hirka around lately? He had a few final exams that were keeping him away from the game, but those should be over by now. ---

School, that’s my only excuse. I actually did get on a little last night, saw that Ruck was on, but he never responded to me. This week is actually the end of the quarter and I have a final on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I’m going home next Saturday for a 2 week break, so should be able to play more then. ---

Oh, OK, I didn’t know that any place but the OSU was still on quarters. Some time after this week, then, we should get a few folks on. The smiter is 40, so we can pull along some mules again. I’ll also be able to bring an extra character, using my new computer before I get rid of the old one. ---

Well, I did it all on my own. It took 3 trips back to town to refill on pots and resurrect my merc, but for the first time, I actually earned an anni. It’s 11, 19, 7 (I guess 20, 20, 10 is the best?) ---

That’s pretty impressive, to solo him with a hammerdin (probably the only spellcaster who even has a chance at it). Good job! And even a 10/10/5 anni (the minimum) is still pretty good. How many can we get on at once on Monday or Tuesday? H and A, you’ll be done with the semester by then, right? ---

I have been looking for claws for my trapsin so long that I can barely see. I finally found a +3 to Shadow Disciplines, the first +3 to a skill tree that I had found. A few minutes later I struck gold in a way that I wasn’t even sure was possible: +3 to Traps +2 to Phoenix Strike +1 to Death Sentry +3 to Lightning Sentry If only, when you found something from Anya that you wanted to buy, you could say “I’d like 10 of those”. Maybe I should have tried a shift+right-click to see if it would fill my stash with them. (Actually, I’m not sure I had enough gold for 2 of them. It was insanely expensive.) ---

After looking a bit longer, I finally found another +3 Shadow Disciplines. I decided I couldn’t improve much more. My 4th claw is +1 to all skills and +3 to Lightning Sentry. My LS is lvl 35 and does 1 - 7166 dmg. So I headed down to the Halls to try doing Nith. Ran into tons of LI’s. Hopefully, that was just a bad draw. If not, this plan is dead in the water. My non-Lightning attack is Fire Blast. Fire Blast has 6 synergies, 4 of which I have maxed. FB itself is at lvl 12 due to equipment, and only does 241-356 dmg. ---

All the things before Nihlathak’s level, you should just run past, maybe occasionally mind-blasting them to slow them down. In Nihlahak’s level itself, the only LIs are Tomb Vipers, which suck for everyone. You can just re-make when you see them, or you can kill other monsters around them and Death Sentry. Whatever you do, though, don’t run: Their poison clouds are more lethal when you move through them. Very nice claw, by the way. Shall we say Wednesday evening for a mule-rush? Maybe 9 EDT or so? ---

I’ve done a few runs, but haven’t gotten any keys. I can only assume that I’ve killed Nith because of the unique markings on the map. I throw traps around the corner and then hide out like a bitch. 🙂 (I guess that’s how you fight him.) But half the time I have to just remake the game. If there’s a good mix of immunes I can use LS to kill the first few and get some corpese, then DS to kill the rest. But sometimes you get nothing but LI’s, and it’s easier to just make another game. I’ve wondered if it would be faster to do these runs with another (non lightning based) player, or if it would be faster to respec, maxing out Wake of Fire and Wake of Inferno instead of Shock Web and Charged Bolt Sentry. (I don’t recall seeing any that were LI and FI. It’s the LI and PhysI that I can’t get past.) I’m off Sunday and Monday, except for doing homework and helping someone move. I work Tuesday and Wednesday, but should be off by 6-ish EDT both days. ---

It seems that Ormus’ Robes does help the Trapsin’s Lightning Sentry, but not the Sorc’s Enchant. I thought we would probably have a lightning sorc somewhere, but I couldn’t find it. At this point, the lack of +Skills makes it not good for my Trapsin, but maybe when I get a few more skill points or a torch she could use it. Until then, it’s on the UExarmor mule. (I guess we don’t have a UElArmor account.) Could we get an updated account list? I think that the following is pretty accurate, just from memory. sd-enchant – The enchantress and the noob mule (plus a junk mule) sd\_barber – The barbarian, plus probably some junk mules sd\_nails – The hammerdin, plus definitely some junk mules, and a whites mule sd-smallstuff – Runes, gems, jewelry, etc. sd-classmules – For items suited to a particular class (plus one for hirelings) sd-mules1 – A socketed mule, plus assorted junk mules hirkat – You know this one, of course. Your necro and assassin micahphone – So far as I know, just the MF sorc appleciders – Zealot paladin plus a few other chars sonorhC – My zon sd-holes - Socketed items sd-bossy, with a smiter. sd-mules1 - Apparently forgotten, but I revived them. A holes mule that’s full, and several other mules. Some of the better items on there: DShell, Arreat’s Face Slayer Guard, Titan’s Revenge. And that’s after I took Suicide Branch, Boneshade, Marrowwalk, and a +2 assassin skills tiara. \*sd-unweap, for normal unique weapons. One character each for axes, bows/crossbows, maces, polearms, rods (scepters/staves/wands), spears, and swords \*sd-unarmor, for normal unique armor. One each for helms, body/belts, shields, gloves, and boots, plus probably a second body armor. \*sd-uexweap, for exceptional unique weapons. Same divisions as for norm \*sd-uexarmor, for exceptional unique armor. \*sd-lowsets, for sets Angelic through Vidala, two sets per character \*sd-highsets, for Aldur’s through Trang’s, two sets per character ---

Is this still the +3 Fire Wall one we found ages ago? We should probably trade that off: Any Ormus should go for a decent price to the right buyer, and it’s not really doing us much good. For a trapper’s armor, I’d recommend either a Treachery (+2 to skills; the other mods aren’t too useful to an assassin, but it’s cheap), or Natalya’s (no +traps, but at least +shadow). And no, we don’t yet have accounts for elite uniques. I’m not comfortable ground-muling them, so they’ll wait until we have multiple people on at once to do the transfers. ---

No, this is one I found the other day. It has +15% to L, 11 and 12 to F and C, and, +3 to static, IIRC. So pretty good for a L sorc. Do we not have a Lightning sorc? I’m using a Treachery. ---

Regarding doing Nith runs: I haven’t played Barbs enough to know about this, but could the Barb’s Find Potion, Find Item, or Grim Ward skills be used to clear bodies to negate Nith’s CE?
